My cousin did architecture at the RCA and I went to her graduation show. She showed me round the college, I was blown away by the talent on show and I spent way too long admiring the automotive design department.
Ah yes, the RCA is Intelligent Mobility - quite a lot of people go there!RosscoPCole said:
This was 30 years ago, a lot will have changed between then and now.
Massively! The whole industry has, I do wish I could've experienced it 20-30 years ago. For a start, so much is digital nowadays... On top of that, projects have changed entirely and a much higher level of consideration is expected nowadays - so many projects now focus on autonomy, alternative power sources and transport solutions. As a petrolhead, I entered it all with a pure interest for styling and cars - pretty shallow of me, I guess Harry3099 said:
Look brilliant. Very tempted to get one of our race 100e. To avoid any implications of ‘commerce’, roughly how many hours does it take to do one?Takes me back to 1st degree years... Industrial design... and pouring over presentation techniques by Dick Powell. And the smell of the original glass bottle magic markers
Those are superb OP, but if I may offer some critique, some of the wheel perspectives appear a little off in some of the renderings. Are you free handing these are you using perspective guides?

More than happy to sort that for you, feel free to contact me through my website if you'd like to discuss :-)A4 drawings can be done in about 3 hours, A3 take a minimum of 8 hours. If I particularly like a car, I'll do it quicker

Thank you! The markers don't smell quite as strong nowadays, depending on which ones you use ;-)Those are superb OP, but if I may offer some critique, some of the wheel perspectives appear a little off in some of the renderings. Are you free handing these are you using perspective guides?
It's all freehand, no perspective guides. The angles of the photographs tend to make the perspective of the wheels look skewed, they're mostly ok.
