No, you weren't. You were banging on and on and on about China. You very clearly have an issue. It's boring. You're boring.
No, you’re just odd. Very odd.

So far we’ve had this EV is almost as light as a GTR, and EVs could be made to handle better than something else. Pointing out that something EV shaped made by the Chinese is unlikely to match an ICE’d roadster…isn’t a stretch.

Hope your evening gets better.
Nah, you're the odd one here. You've not actually refuted any of the points Donkey Apple made with any better evidence.

They're trying to keep it below 2 tonnes!!

I drive lumbering great Land Rovers, and neither of them is close to 2 tonnes, so how the h*** can they be struggling to keep this thing below 2 tonnes!!

Mind you, it's not a bad looker!;)

Well it’s heavier and more powerful than a 2021 SL500, and about the same size, so yes, maybe.

I really wish we could split this thread into cars and politics.

I appreciate that you have a new in your bonnet but the reality is that the Chinese car industry has been hoovering up large amounts of European senior management for over a decade.

It's also worth noting that the team behind these MGs is based in London and apart from the comedy named Willy Wang, you won't find many Chinese workers to have been involved in these cars until it comes time to assemble them.

Ultimately, it doesn't really matter what your slightly uncomfortable personal view is, car manufacturing and assembly has been heading East for decades and you're not going to stop that. The likes of VW will continue to move more and more production East and all the senior, educated industry workers will keep moving East with that.

The Chinese aren't daft though. If there is high demand from true customers in Europe who don't want to buy a car that's been touched by Chinese hands, they will offer a cleaning service to get rid of those inferior finger prints. smile
Strange post. As our business deals with China a lot you’re way off. I was commenting that MGs are a bit crap. And probably will not handle like a Taycan. Sorry if that triggered you.
And the price of a MG4 is what,
And the price of your Taycan is how much ?
And Iam sure the MG will prove far more relaible.

Lol.

1. I don’t care. It’ll be cheap, and reflect that in most ways.
2. I don’t own a Taycan.
3. Don’t be silly.

People who throw their views about human rights and democracy in others faces need to stznd back and look at themselves, you may not drive a car that was made in China, but a pound to a penny a big percentage of parts that are in your car that came from Europe or another Country actually did come from China as did a lot of the items in your houses, sheds or garages

It's more about raising awareness. I'll bet the majority of people buying these MGs assume they're British and don't realise they're purchasing a car from a company owned by the Chinese state.

I think if a lot of people did realise that, then fewer of them would be bought.
Exactly this. Just look at the current demographic of MG drivers in the UK. Mostly white elderly gents. I know a guy. Staunch Brexiteer, strongly pro Britain...just bought a ZS (I know a crime in itself!!). He had no idea it was Chinese. And the dealers exploit that ignorance from what he told me.
confirms all my biases about that lot… and the -‚ no we know what we have been voting for‘ outcry when challenged

Just a bit of casual racism and ageism then?

What's the difference between this and other car manufacturers over the last few decades?

Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Lotus, Volvo, VW, Mercedes etc.

The poster you quoted left a random {/quote} in their post, messing up all subsequent replies.

The huge majority of MGs I see around are either taxis or family cars. I'd say they seem to have one of the youngest average age of owners of all of the mainstream brands.

Yep - that’d be my guess - it’s a cheap (for a new car) family car. It’s miles away from the early 2000’s brand.
