RE: Fabled TVR T440R for sale
Discussion
It looks awesome in the flesh. I’m not getting into an argument over steering wheel bolts, but this is a totally renovated car. It’s also one of three. When I’m out and about at the weekend I see more than three McClarens and Ferraris.
Bog standard family transport costs £50k today. Compared to that this is actually good value. It might not be your choice but for someone wanting something only three people on the planet own, it’s not overpriced.

It's a TVR...so it's probably reading wrong anyway!
All joking aside though...my goodness and why would you leave so little in it like that?!
I remember picking up my used but very low mileage griff 500 from Harrogate horseless carriages , the first thing I was told by the lady , Nicky I think she was called , was don’t trust the fuel gauge, fill it up when it gets to a quarter and you’ll be fine . She then clocked where I lived and stressed that it would leak in when it rained and the battery would go flat if I left it standing. All joking aside though...my goodness and why would you leave so little in it like that?!
Non of this was mentioned in the nearest Porsche dealership where I was also considering buying a 993 , but those days tvr was everyone’s working class hero and I don’t regret it for a moment , well maybe until recently !
One of TVR’s few styling errors. Other stillborn projects were cut up. Probably made for the track and the promotional impact of running the brand at LM and not a road going car ? Looked fine smothered in DeWalt decals but not in candy apple red.
Looks like the reveal in the film Predator.

The photography is hilariously bad. This Drew chap has just uploaded 3 TVRs for sale, and he’s managed to make them all look horrendous.
IIRC Drew used to be the sales guy at Tvr Fernhurst and sold me my first Tamora many moons ago, a very knowledgeable chap on Tvrs. The car could have been better prepped and would suit a darker colour like Reflex Charcoal IMO, as for the price there was a silver T440R up for sale a couple of years ago at a similar amount which I thought was the first road going version, (L5 ***) time to buy a Lotto ticket Well, my daily driver was the ‘development mule’ IIRC for this, a Tuscan 1. With the supercharger etc. picked it up from Blackpool to drive back to London with the warning that ‘it’s a bit wayward’-Been crashed a few times etc. not quite 100% right. I recall pissing down. Rain cleared up just as I arrived at the M6 toll road. Floored it. I did indeed need all 5/6 lanes to keep it in a straight line. Great fun.
The difference between the front and rear wheel arch gap and sweeping main line below the windows makes it look like it has been jumped on in the middle. Like a Cerbera and Sagaris mated. The front grill looks crap too.
Otherwise, it is completely bonkers and love the interior, especially, like Blackpool Rock, exposed carbon running through the chassis.
Not cheap but what a laugh to drop in a supercharger and sequential box
