It does look rather Fisher Price doesn't it?
I thought that too, it’s not pretty is it? That said I think you’d be having too much fun to care. Bit more power, auto convenience in traffic (plus an easier sell to the missus), have Litchfield lower it a bit on Nitrons, job jobbed driving

Quite! If this is released in June that will be when the final payment on mine is due which will be around £14K The car will be 3.5 years old and perhaps worth £24K as a trade-in. If the new one is £40K then that's a £30K cost to change and tbh I'm not sure its worth it.

I’d happily put up with the new dash (anyone not buying a performance car due to the dash is looking for excuses not to buy one) if it reduces the peering through a letterbox feel the mk1 had.

Wonder if the auto helps reach emissions targets for the fleet?

Full marks to Toyota just for keeping with it!

Great updates!! Takes it from a non starter to actual contender for me, auto box a must and a love a digital dash ( if it displays sat nav directions on it etc)

Will this knock prices of the mk1 much I wonder?

Well, it looks like it’s happening, then! All looks good apart from the new dash - what’s that all about?! All my wife would like to know is does the Passenger seat still need resetting after you’ve moved it to get the kids in the back? biggrin

Pricing news will be interesting - less than £40k?
The passenger seat thing is the reason we can’t have one either!

Im in a similar boat here. The simple answer for me is not worth it for marginal changes / upgrades, unless you want auto then go for it.

Lot of current owners worried about that, which is a weird thing to concern yourself imo.

Prices have softened considerably in the last 6 months or so as the inflation and lack of cheap money has really kicked in. Having said that, you could have enjoyed your £33k car for three years and only lost about £7-8k in that time, meaning the car has retained about 75% of its sticker price. That's good in anyone's book.

It could also be like the new Type-R in that, if the uplift in the new car's RRP is severe enough it might actually cause prices for the original to firm up as it will look like a relative bargain for what is effectively much the same car.

Will probably order one of these - missed out first time round and refused to pay over the odds for one. Managed to get a GR86 at list price instead, which itself is a great car.

I’d have the Yaris as a manual… sure the auto will be faster and easier to drive, but in today’s world it’s still gonna get a kicking at the lights from some electric thing so may as well have the manual and enjoy all that goes with it.

This is great news and glad they're still making it. Welldone Toyota!

Would love to have one in grey. It appeals to me more than the previous colours.

Bought one at launch and sold it in May this year and still wonder if it was the right decision as I keep looking at them now the prices have dropped from when I sold and really can't find anything to replace it as a fun car. It did have a few things that were questionable about it that have been discussed many times but when you were on the right road it was amazing to drive with so much grip.

Unless I find something else over the next few months I will definitely be taking one for a test drive and most likely be buying one to fill the void.

Great to see Toyota are still making these (and have bothered to facelift it), I was sure they'd already pulled the plug!

I had an order in for one (ordered 2020), but had to cancel after 5 months as I didn't have the money, nor the need, nor the space.

Very tempted with this though, although it will be ~ £40k

Auto option?! Oh hell yeah. Hand controlled Yaris GR incoming cool

I'd also like better colours, but sure look, we take what we can get. At least they're still making it!

I think I’m still on a list for the outgoing model. I’d like to think this will give a slot for the new one, but very much doubt it. Still wait for an FL5 Type R slot too, but again no luck.

GR looks/sounds good though. Some nice updates, bar the screens.

Very interested in this, but if its over £40k its a hard sell with that interior.

What is going on with that dashboard? God, that looks awful.

The extra power is welcome, and I'm sure it'll handle that bit better, but would I swap my GR-Yaris for this new one? I don't think so.

Be interesting to see if they keep the pricing the same as the original.

For some strange logic that I can't quiet explain, even to myself, I'm perfectly fine with these as an auto but the thought of a GR86 auto makes me feel a little ill. I actually think I'd prefer an auto Yaris

I had the Gen 1, enjoyed it for 2 years but could never get over the fact it was a Yaris!

Here's to all the flippers that will have already bought these and sell on for more
