Ordered a D300 one of these (like my best mate Harry) as it was the car the wife and I liked the most from a driving enjoyment and refinement point of view; even though historically i have been more an estate than SUV guy. I would have preferred the D350 version but that only came in Autobiography spec and was 20% more expensive. The 300 is already very well specced so it’s really somewhat frivolous adornment you’re paying so much more for. I guess that also infers a greater level of exclusivity and as a pricing strategy it appears to be working for LR. The good news is that the base product is very good.

Interested, where do you draw the line on excess? Is a diesel one ok? Hybrid? Or would you prefer something more dictatorship where the largest car allowed for all is Mondeo sized with a 1.6 litre engine?

Looks great. Got a P400 HSE and it's great and definitely fast enough so this will be another level.

At £170k, though, you've gotta be nuts or too rich to care.

Give it 12 months and they'll depreciate like a stone.

I think it looks the bks. The old was way too chavvy and shouty for me (hence why I went for the F-Pace SVR, not the RRS), but this one cuts a totally different cloth aesthetically.
Julian the F-pace SVR is at tempting money used. Has your ownership been ok in terms of reliability etc?

Why use one succinct phrase to describe something when you could use 30 and three obscure metaphors?

Mine has been A1. 16 months, 18,000miles (yes, wincing at the fuel spend). Nothing wrong at all apart from the sat nav map froze once, but was fine again on next start up.

I did also have a slight rattle from the passenger door trim, but they looked and fixed that at it's first service.

It's a staggeringly good car; luxury transport when needed, perfect family car when needed, load-carrying workhorse when needed, entertaining performance when needed. I love it....and of course its prime feature, it sounds like Thor getting a kick in the clems - I grin every single time I start it, floor it and grin even wider when the supercharger whine can be heard (hopefully it is the supercharger, not the fuel pump....)

I'd definitely get the face-lifted variant, huge step forward all round, but the earlier ones of those are now really sensible money and a great buy.

Cheer up, it looks good fun to me!
Same! I'd imagine keeping up with the tyre costs could get interesting driving like that though! driving

Feeling the rear-end of a car moving around has always been great fun for me. cool

Fittingly the dynamics on the Jag were led by my close friend and the same PH'er who is responsible for this beast!

I'm fine that it exists, and I'm glad that such silliness is legal. It is about as far from my personal taste as it's possible for a car to be.

If you're scooping a 99 I think you need to go back to ice-cream-vendor school.

You're bringing back memories of the 1.8 LX Mondeo that I used to have, and my goodness that thing was gutless!

Never mind the improved performance and looks., has the security improved?

If it disappears from your driveway the performance and looks is negated.

The thing not classic about this is the price - I thought it must be a typo.

I appreciate the reply and the info.

Is it true the prefacelift sound a bit better than the facelift?

That SV logo is bloody awful.

How much does it cost to have it removed?
completely free, just leave it parked on your driveway overnight. Badge will get removed in no time at all (along with the rest of the car).

Proper ice-cream, not that liquidy over-processed whippy ste ;-)

It's said they are louder, but side by side I don't think there's much in it, certainly not better, mine is different from pre-facelift, more grown up...and I without question prefer it - natural analogue note (unlike the AMG V8s which sound digitised in comparison), deeper at tick over and mid-range with a top-end crackle reminiscent of old school V8s...plus the supercharger noise.

My gym car park is filled with many V8 SUVs. G63s, DBXs, Bentaygas, Uruses, Cullinans, Range Rovers, etc etc, and I get comments from the drivers of those cars on how good it sounds. Only the Purosangue in the car park gets a greater nod audibly.

Any attempted theft issues? Any reliability issues?
