The ultimate car for the tree hugging champagne socialist who would rather indulge their selves than donate to the party. As for the car, well it's EV and never for me.
Why wouldn't you consider an EV Rolls, if you were in the market for a Rolls?

Having been in V12 Rollers and Bentleys, part of the experience is knowing there is a beautifully engineered ICE up front, that you have to strain to hear. You try to catch it out, it's like a game. Can't help thinking that an electric powertrain would feel like a bit of an anticlimax, a missing part of the whole experience
How many people who regularly travel in these sort of cars are thinking the same?

I know it’s a completely different sort of car, but I find it many times more desirable than the Ferrari Purosangue.

Glorious. Well done RR.

I think it’s a great Rolls-Royce but - contrary to previous comments - I think they missed a trick not trying something different with the interior; that dashboard looks incongruous in a ‘new style age’ EV coupe .

I don't know the answer to that. But when you look at, for example, the Bentley Flying Spur, the ones that have clearly been specced with no consideration of budget or resale have usually got the biggest, least efficient engine. I take from that people who don't need to watch the pennies still like great big petrol engines.

I like some of the modern Rolls but to my tastes this isn't a pretty car. The interior centre console and screens look very BMW from a couple of generations ago but in fancier materials.

Love it. Presumably RR will offer a small petrol generator that can be mounted to the tow bar if the owner intends to do lots of long distance motoring.

I agree. I see it as similar to preferring a finely crafted, exquisitely engineered mechanical watch, when a more accurate/reliable quartz, would, on the face of it be a more sensible choice.

When cars reach this level, I think there's a greater desire for a more 'traditional' approach, and that includes the heart of the vehicle, the engine.

Well, that's my preference anyway, not that I'm likely ever to be finding out. hehe

I know, impressive isn't it.

Given that it probably saves 5 tons of CO2 coming out of the tailpipe every year.

That's what you meant yeah?

It looks lovely.

I'm surprised the first EV isn't a limousine. That will not be an accident; Rolls Royce clearly expected driver-owners to be keen on an EV rather than those who are chauffeured around, at least for now.

Perhaps RR are keen to iron out any foibles with the cars of the nouveau riche before introducing an EV limousine to its most conservative customers?

It would take me several lifetimes to save up for one hehe but I think it looks spot on for the well-heeled younger customer.

I’m not sure on it personally. Looks unresolved & disjointed to me.
This.

Weird mixture of curves and sharp edges colliding with each other. Looks untidy and ill proportioned.
I wrote about seeing one of these on the number plates (JCT 600) thread a few weeks ago.

At the time I didn't know what it was but seeing it in the flesh, I thought it had a weird shape as well.

No, they didn't.
You know what would be impressive? Under 2 tonnes with an efficient petrol hybrid system, GPF and ethically sourced battery heavy metals.
Alas, it's just a ttmobile with a fancy name

Whilst I appreciate that two-tone paint is a Rolls Royce signature, I think the single colour of the car in the OP looks better than, for example, this:

Ah yes, the worst of both worlds.

For people who are obsessed with 'the weight of things', is it because you can't see CO2 that it doesn't count?
