Tuthill shows off dazzling new 4.0-litre 911 RSK

Better power to weight than a GT3 RS, heads derived from a 911K and this green - it's 993 perfection

When Tuthill announces a new project, you know it’s going to be good. See the 11,000rpm 911K for proof. Whatever it decides to make that’s vaguely 911-shaped, you’re going to want it, even if the thought of something like it had never crossed your mind before. It seems the new RSK can be added to that list.

This very first, recently completed example is destined for a life in Hong Kong; there’s still more information to follow on it, but what we know already is extremely exciting. Not least the revelation that its power-to-weight ratio betters the current 992 GT3 RS. That’s a 525hp car that weighs 1,450kg ready to roll - improving on it will make for a very fast 911 indeed.

To that end, we know that the RSK is powered by a 4.0-litre flat-six with four-valve heads ‘derived from the 911K’, so expect it to be revvy; the fact that Tuthill is holding back additional engine details for now suggests there’s something very, very special in store. That and the red paint starting at 8,000rpm…

There’s plenty more to be distracted by until then, too. The paint being perhaps the most obvious one, the 993 stripped back to a bare shell and resprayed in-house at Tuthill; the Verde Francesca shade is a Ferrari colour, and even at a time when every other 911 seems to be green it really does look sensational. The decals, including that excellent flying pink pig, are said to be hand-painted.

On the chassis side, the RSK gets Tuthill’s adjustable dampers, a bespoke anti-roll bar and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres. Most interesting perhaps are the brakes, which combine billet calipers with carbon ceramic brakes - Tuthill suggests this could be a world first.

Either way, it promises a driving experience even more thrilling than a standard 993 Carrera RS. Which was described as ‘a quick glimpse through the gates of heaven’ in a PH Heroes story. So this K is likely going to be out of this world - and not just another old, green 911. More details as soon as we have them!

I'm not really a fan of the 911 (engine in wrong place, overpriced) but this looks incredible. Period correct, with a few subtle upgrades.

Will it be much cheaper than just buying a Carrera RS? (this one sold for £280k)

Love everything about it other than the stickers / small decals for the badges that looks a bit cheap. Bet its a riot to drive though.

So 7 numbers fall the right way for you, but who would you call for your ultimate 911 fix?

Tuthill
Theon
Ninemeister
Paul Stephen’s
Singer
Probably someone else I’m missing

I love everything about that, except for the strange marbled green colour on the inside, at the bottom of the dash.

That aside, that's probably Ultimate Porsche for me....

What’s with the flying pig decal, some sort of in-joke – eg, “When an air-cooled 911 doesn’t spin when you lift-off mid-corner, pigs will fly.”?

Just for a laugh, the Singer 935 crazy looking thing with the massive wing, in full Vaillant or Jagermeister colours.

The lower dash panel will probably match the interior colour. No picture of the seats or door trim to confirm but looks to be following the green theme.

Mint green looks so good on the 993
