45k+ for a 3cylinder Yaris?
They really want you to get a Cayman.
Sorry, I don't care, how good it drives, I NEED to look back, when I lock, and think, yeah...
You mean the four cylinder poverty spec Cayman for £52K, the one you look back and think, yeah, wish I could have afforded the S and leather seats? They really want you to get a Cayman.

Quite a number - mid £40’s, but they will - of course - all sell out…
I just bought a little GRY rascal, December 2023 registered, just 20 miles on the clock, paid list price for it… one of last ones made & the closest I could get to a new one… new car smell and everything :-))
I think my money is safe here tbh, for those talking about 718 cayman, well, I came out of a GT4, carbon seats, manual, carbon brakes - etc
This GRY is every bit as exciting as the GT4. Add in rain & the GR would magically ‘disappear’ with its 4WD…
It’s stunning - and way way cheaper to run than a 718, I know - I owned 2 - at the same time…
I would not have waited for 2024 - then 2025 for one of these new ones, I like the original & as everyone knows:
‘Given the passing of the years, the sequel is rarely considered better than the original…’
If you get a new one - chuffed for you!
Possibly see you at a SS sometime… :-))

No chance. About 5,000 owners in the UK and the waitlist was about the same so that’s 10,000 people able to enter the ballot, take out those that can’t/wont pay the price, don’t want the car or wrong time then even a small percentage who go for it will likely exceed supply if the rumoured 400 or so cars for 2024 is to be believed.
Will be interesting as there were loads on the waiting list for the FL5 Civic until the price was announced. Then many dropped out, think less than a 1000 were brought in last year in the end. It’s a lot of money when finance isn’t cheap.
No surprise with the price increase. However, really turned off though by this limited numbers guff and FoMO generated by the marketing jockeys. Didn’t Toyota say this is now part of the standard model range so I expect them to continue churning them out after all this ballot bull has passed.
Expect a lot of demand will be for the auto box too and it will be interesting to see the split. This will be a great car but I think I’ll wait for the all the excitement to die down and look at an Alpine in the meantime.

As for a Cayman, my experience so far is that I look back in my mirrors at them as I overtake them during Track Days
(The only Porsche to be faster than my little Fugly GRY at the track days I have been to was a 911 GT3 - perhaps all the fast Porsches are in the pits being polished and looked back at - personally I'm just going round lapping almost constantly until the fuel tank needs re-filling)

I wish our wages were anything close to this sort of staggering inflation. Fortyfivegrand lol.
Could always get an Astra. No way will anyone get any discount on the GR.

Ridiculous price increase. I guess if they sell them then fair play to them. Was hoping for a 35kish price so that it would drop the price of the first gen but no chance of that now. First gens will probably go up in value if anything.
Considering the current RRP for the mk1 is £36k (not that you can get one new) that was wishful thinking to expect it to come in under that! Unreal said:

I do look back at my GRY and think that I love it, looks and all - of course it is not classically beautiful but it is so functional in its form
