I’ve been thinking of getting an nd2 2.0 and buy the bbr 220 kit, as a do it all 1-car replacement to my track nb and Elise, but I’d like to know more about the reliability issues and customer service with it - can anyone chime in with more info? Pm me if you prefer, thanks!

Same performance figures as a 35 year old Lotus M100
The M100 couldn’t even hold a candle to the NA, never mind the ND. Having owned both an M100 and and NA, the latter is a better car in every single way except for acceleration.

Why do you appear to be repeating exactly the same comment? Do you have nothing else to say?

Interesting hearing the differing experiences of BBR. Have my mind on a NC 2.0 for the fun car, and after hearing the induction sound of the super225, fell completely in love with the idea.

Now, I fear they might not be as reliable as I first thought
If your anywhere local to the Herefordshire area your more than welcome to have a spin in mine. It is glorious when it works, and I doubt it’s a serious issue, however it’s BBR’s appauling customer service that’s the biggest problem.
Thanks mate, that’s very kind of you. I’m heading over to Mumbles for the dog holiday and it’s on the way.
If I remember that far into the future I’ll ping you

Soul Red really is one of the great reds. I'd argue just next to Rosso Corsa
Spotted this parked outside my apartment when I was living in Long Beach. You couldn’t miss it! The light quality in California is crazy good.

Updates look good, I adore my 2021 2.0 soul red soft top. I do think losing the DRLs from the bumper is a sham, I suspect it’s for costs, I do love the look of the updated centre console and new rear lamps.

I did have a look over the configurator and noticed the lowering springs are no longer an option.

I’m planning on keeping mine unless the Mazda Spirit Racing edition gets the green light, in which case I’ll have one of those instead.

I've had great fun in an NB for years as a weekend and sunny-days-drive-for-fun B-Road toy. I'd buy a five-year-old ND for £14,000 in a heartbeat. But new one for £34,000?

The mid-tier "Exclusive Line" MX-5 RF starts at £32k. A Ford Puma ST, with no options, is £33k.
Different corners of the market, I appreciate, but puts the current price of the MX-5 in perspective.

You're geting a lot more expensive engineering and parts in the MX5 than the Ford with it's stamped steel poverty spec suspension and value engineered to the fraction of a penny engine too. I still think they are relatively decent value for what you get, who else is selling you a car with an all aluminium double wishbone setup at the front and proper multilink rear, and an engine full of forged bits that'll go to 7,500 RPM for £30k? It has all the magpie toys you could want too, unfortunately.

They're just not the unbelievably good value they were in mid 2019.

Best looking MX5 yet. I’d never have that dull grey ( unfinished look) paint. Performanc a bit disappointing!

Agreed that the price of the ND MX 5 has risen steeply since it was launched. However when the original NA went on sale in the UK in 1990 it cost £14,249 which in today's money is equivalent to £40,588, so using a bit of man maths, a base model new MX 5 at £28,000 is good value
