Yeah I tend to lean this way with regards to modern V8 Maseratii which aren't the MC20 as they all seem to make an awfully out-of-place racket. Hear a shrieking supercar and expect to see some low-slung wedge zoom past, turn and see a great big lump dawdling up the road.....

Wanted to hate it, but cant help but like it, the colour is challenging for some but for the right buyer thats great, we all have different tastes, looks great with the roof up.

As for the lack of noise, its a Cote D'azur gin palace, and the times they are a changing.

My main grip is, couldn't they have said 185 ?

The only thing I don’t like is the performance tbh. A four seat convertible doesn’t need to go 2.8 to 60. Make it 4 sec with a 150 top speed and give people better battery life.

Love the idea of a silent, refined drop top,would be so relaxing. Not sure about the styling of this one though.

It won't be silent at 70mph. It'll be wind noise and tyre roar instead of engine. Not sure that's an improvement!

The demographic are most likely too old to hear the high pitch of the motors. But my i3s makes a weird 'woo-woo' noise below 20 mph, apparently by law. Even with the windows closed I can hear it. As beautiful as this car is, and I love the Metallic Germolene colour, I couldn't cruise along a Mediterranean Sea front in what would sound like Casper on a pub crawl.

You just press the right hand pedal slightly less to get the same effect!

Meh, it’s general opinion on EVs for me. No one needs a pick up or saloon that fast and the obsession with drag race numbers is tedious. I’d rather see higher ranges than higher top speeds personally.

The range is determined by the way it is driven just like an ICE. I assume the regeneration capabilities is linked to the kW rating of the motors.

Battery life is not an issue in newer EVs.

It's a perfect Cote d'Azur cruiser.

The point is you’re getting that additional performance for free, why artificially limit it when you’d get exactly the same effect by just not pushing the accelerator as hard? It’s not like ICE where there’s a big efficiency penalty for running a V12 over a V8.

Battery size is the key driver for range in terms of the drivetrain, a larger battery can also supply a greater current therefore range and max power are intrinsically linked.

Wind noise is always a problem with convertibles at speed. This will be no difference. I still prefer the relative effortless calm of driving an EV with no synthetic engine sound being played through the speakers that many modern cars have.

Tyre engineering is now an interesting topic. How to reduce particulates and also decrease road noise.
