Having a random urge to have a look at projects that have used the engine in this for a power plant. Surely be able to make some money off the rest of the car and box? Hmmm off to eBay!
Doubt you'll find many.TEKNOPUG said:
It's a shame that the engine was specifically designed for the Cayenne and therefore is very tall, meaning it's of little use as a donor for something a bit lighter. The later S and GTS run 385/400bhp and considering you can buy whole cars for a few grand, would make very affordable engine swaps.
I have a cunning plan.
Around my way beach huts go for about £50,000 and at the height of the season you can rent them out for up to £200 a day so i will buy this Cayenne or a similar cheap one park it up for the day near the other beach huts (Cayennes have about the same square footage as beach huts) then rent it out for £200+ a day as a luxury Porsche holiday home.
It has electricity unlike a beach hut and should you require toilet facilities which are noticeable by their absence in the area you can drive to them (subject to requisite insurance).
What can go wrong?

But if you want a 2 tonne V8 SUV, that's the price. Be it Cayenne, FFRR, X5 etc, ticking the V8 box incurs a £3 daily fuel charge.
If you're in the "must have a V8 simply because it's a V8" camp sure, but whilst it's obviously not slow, it's not particularly quick either - there are plenty of SUVs with similar performance for not hugely more money which will be vastly more economical. kambites said:

Which ones ?Fuel is only 1 part of the overall cost. Depreciation on a new car will be more than the fuel costs on an older one. Cheap, powerful, reliable. You can only choose 2.
A V8 for under £2k? What's not to like!!
Seriously though, if I needed a cheap 4x4, I'd have no problem p1ssing £2k down the tube on an old Cayenne.......... but just not this one. First thing I look at in a motor is the tyres, as if they've skimped on the rubber - then they've skimped elsewhere too. So not only has this thing got tyres from 3 different manufacturers (2 of which are Chinese ditch-finders I've never even heard of), but the one remaining quality brand tyre (the solitary Continental), has a date stamp on it from 2011!!!!!!!!

The owner or a local vape shop has a similar motor.
It has a 4D number plate badly arranged to spell his name.
It is parked on double yellows outside the shop, obscuring the junction.
And it irks you, which is why you typed this. And I sadly agree. The last bit being the main reason. It has a 4D number plate badly arranged to spell his name.
