RE: Porsche Cayenne S | Shed of the Week
Discussion
Surprisngly good for 2k. I would rather have air suspension though but appreciate at shed price this is less to go wrong.
Tailgate struts is a big job which needs the headlining down (I think), hence it gets left.
Have thought about one of these many times, but ultimately they are not very big in the back and I have big kids.

Over 7s to 60 sounds glacial for a fast SUV these days.
Can't imagine the fuel bills won't start to grate, slower than my diesel Touareg.
My old 2004 X5 4.8iS was 0 to 60 in 6.1 seconds as a comparison. That never felt all that quick though, but I guess that you can blame the 2200kg kerbweight for that. The current GLE400d we have does 60 in 5.7 seconds, and that is a 100kg heavier. Can't imagine the fuel bills won't start to grate, slower than my diesel Touareg.
The X5 is still one of the best sounding cars I've ever had in fairness to it though. I didn't reckon much to the 12mpg that I got on my commute from Sandbach to Handforth at the time though for sure, and I used the loud pedal far too much on that journey I reckon.

What a horror!
As she'd mentioned, Lexux Rx400h all the way for this money.
Better built, just as fast, ULEZ friendly and naturally far more reliable.
This is also ULEZ Compliant. Agree, the Lexus would be a more reliable proposition but this will be more fun to own, even if it empties your wallet quickly! As she'd mentioned, Lexux Rx400h all the way for this money.

Decent Shed for the money. These were sought after cars when new, and then went through the 'Max Power' phase, as did the L322s.
However, original and unmolested early examples are beginning to rise in value and appeal.
I really fancy an early Turbo, but that would be the financially ruinous option!

Don’t really mind the expensive VED, it’s a lot less than the monthlies on some very average cars.
I saw a chrysler PT cruiser convertible in a facebook group the other day - £710 a year to tax!Which is absolutely crazy!

Despite being a Porsche enthusiast I’ve never been keen on these but acknowledge they (possibly) saved the company.
At shed money at does look a massive gamble but would probably be a safer bet than a £2k Range Rover.

Think you need to take yourself to a quiet place and have a think about what you just said!At shed money at does look a massive gamble but would probably be a safer bet than a £2k Range Rover.

I like the seller, "relatively remorse free" purchase. Made me chuckle. I just wonder what sort of punter this would attract, someone with champagne taste and tap water money I suspect. I expect this to see the road until another bill materialises and then it's off to car heaven.
Shame more dealers don't take this sort of approach to sales ads, they would probably sell more cars and have considerably less comeback. kambites said:
Looks like a lot of car for the money, but probably only if you're blind. It was an ugly car when new and time has not been kind.
I suspect running costs will be pretty eye-watering even if it doesn't break, let alone if it does.
18mpgI suspect running costs will be pretty eye-watering even if it doesn't break, let alone if it does.
£600 for decent tyres ~ 20-30k
£500 for brakes ~ 40k
£120 battery ~ 5 years
Servicing - you need 2 air filters, 8l of oil, Bosch spark plugs are only £4.50 each
Running costs are not high bar petrol (to be expected).
Potential borkage is a different matter But then that's why it's £2k.......
