It looks great, if you like a money pit!
No way will it do 0-60 in 5ish seconds though - the Specification on the advert says 7.9s.
What's so special about dual-zone Climate and leather? My 2005 BMW 330i has both of those features but does 0-62 in 6.3 seconds.
Although it doesn't have a sticky-up knob for the postmistress!

It's still subject to consumer rights. This car is being sold retail, not scrap, and therefore the buyer can expect full protection as a consumer. Warranties are a completely separate thing, though many dealers don't understand that, or use it as camouflage to try to dodge their responsibilities.blueacid said:

For those interested in automative trivia. The "pour 2 litres of fizzy drive into the auto shift mechanism" is a Ford standard test which all auto shifters have to pass. Also, of possible interest, is that when Toyota first sold cars in the US it was this type of test they did not have and they had quite a lot of warranty with jammed shifters, seat belt latches, cup holder mechanisms etc. Japanese drivers are very clean and careful and don't spill a lot of food/drink in their cars. Americans are not and do. (Brits - somewhere in the middle I guess)

Only the supercharged did o-60 in five + seconds. The 3.0 litre petrol non supercharged was 7.9 to 60.
Only kept my 2009 XFS for 18 months as was constantly worrying about things going wrong (not that they did but felt I was pushing my luck.
Fabulous car though that munched the miles and made you feel good every time you got in and started it up.

My neighbour had one of these, it spent months off the road awaiting a new pipe that lives in the V. Shortly after that was fixed it was crashed into while parked and written off citing parts supply issues.

Other than the badge what's the best way to identify one of those? Someone I know has a hot looking Jag estate, not an SUV, and I am now wondering if it's one of those. I fix these WAY too often and whilst I wouldn't touch most JLR stuff with a bargepole, for XFs it's 2 bargepoles
Biggest issue I see is they like forgetting their key codes, esp the earliest cars with the key slot, this is fixable IF you have 2 or more working keys, if you only have one you're scrapping the car as it's a dealer only repair for a couple of grand.
They're good cars for fish lovers as the boot fills with water and you know where that ends. The Sportbrake is even worse than the saloon for this
The rest of the electrics can be moody too and some cars suffer water ingress above the CJB in the driver's kickpanel which is game over territory on older cars too
They like to rust too, the rear subframe esp, most pre 2010 cars will now be pretty frilly unless it's been sorted.
Then there's that engine, its fine IF it's been maintained properly but who does that on an old Jag and when neglected they just hoover money from your wallet working or not.
You'd have to be mad to buy this unless you like gambles or have a YT channel where your failure can be monetised...
