about aston martin...
today I was driving to a classic event cars/tractors/bikes and so on, and thought hey I spot a Aston Martin, it had a grey-ish AM color an looked modern and very wide, but there were 3 cars in front of me so I could not see it very well.
one by one the cars in front of me went another direction and I was behind the Ast euh, hm, it was a new Porsche 992 with I believe the spoiler a bit up and had a Aston Color and leds what the 992 has, pfff
I thought it was something like this the DB12

Gorgeous , but then I'm biased just bought one, very similar in Morning Frost with a little less red leather and little more miles, spent a year looking for one that wasn't grey with a black interior.
Agree that these cars need to used and not sitting in a garage mine had only covered 1500 miles a year, something I intend to improve on this year.

The supplying dealer would have to offer a warranty, and would also have a reputation to maintain. So I would assume that all the perishable consumables would be replaced: tyres, belts, pulleys, coolant pipes, fuel pump, brake pipes etc. I'm also guessing you would want a new brake master cylinder, piston & hydraulics to be safe?
On top of this - all the service items which are "age or mileage, whichever comes first" would need to have been done, and on a 12 year old car that will be lots.
If the selling dealer does all of the above, it could be a good buy. However without the above wouldn't touch it.

PH, you should be better than this. The big change wasn't with the introduction of the S -- it was with the 4.7L model introduced in 2008 for the 2009 model year and which was significantly revised overall. The article implies that the S introduced the 4.7 engine, which is completely incorrect. The 4.3L cars are great, but the standard 4.7L cars are significantly improved. The S is further tweaked, but is much more similar to the standard 4.7 than a standard 4.7 is to a 4.3. By the way, the arches of the S are exactly the same as all V8 Vantages (except the GT8), and all S versions had the carbon fibre splitter and diffuser.
About V8 Vantages in general... These are wonderful cars. I've had my MY09 manual coupe from new. It's been nearly faultless, it's beautifully made, it's genuinely excellent to drive and it's one of the best-looking cars made in the last 50+ years, IMO. After all these years, it's still an event every time.

It’s not ‘low’ mileage though, is it? It’s absolutely bleedin’ minuscule mileage. If you use just one tank of fuel driving this car, you’ll likely double the mileage (well not quite, but close - I get about 250 - 300 miles from a tank)So - who in their right mind is going to buy it AND use it? If you wanted a truly low mileage car to use, you’d be far better off starting with something with (say) 10k miles on it and not having to spend a small fortune to recommission it first.
If nobody is going to buy it to drive it, the only option is to buy it and put it in storage, at which point you’ve got to ask yourself if the car is special enough to own as an ornament. Much as though I love VH-era Vantages, it simply isn’t special enough to be a museum piece.

As with most all the Aston metallic paints, you need to see Stratus White in real life on a sunny day. It comes alive with all sorts of sparkles. It isn't a refrigerator white.
