The Cullinan could be exceptional and innovative, instead it’s a mediocre core swathed in vulgarity and excess.

It might not be everyone’s cuppa PG, but at least Ferrari made an effort with the Purelysanguine.
Tell us you've never been in a Cullinan without telling us you've never been in a Cullinan.

Don't let facts get in the way of cliched comments.
It's not a cliché. I live in the UAE, and a significant proportion (quite possibly the majority) of vehicles are white 4x4s, most notably the ubiquitous Nissan Patrol (elsewhere called the Nissan Armada - what everyone else calls the Patrol, here they call the "Patrol SuperSafari"). There's also an awful lot of FFRRs in white too. It's less about taste and more about what works best when daytime temperature peak over 40C for half the year (starting around now).
I've just come back from Dubai, and yes you are right, although very few Cullinans compared to other high-end SUVs, and compared to my corner of the UK.

....But it still doesn't detract from the fact that the UAE is NOT the Cullinan's biggest market.

The cliché is the way the ignorant blindly trot out any large/powerful SUV is purely aimed at the ME.

I think too many people here miss the point of a Cullinan. And more specifically, most people haven't actually experienced it in real life. I don't want one, but that's not the point.

But then I think too many people on here think peak car is a fast Audi so...

That was then. We're now in the year 2024.

In regard to Greta, she is a friend of friend and seems to have a good grasp of all things green.

Nobody on this thread has said the UAE is the biggest market for Royces though.

I think it's a minger! hurl

But then it seems I'm 20+ years older than the average Rolls-Royce driver, don't need an Estate on stilts and couldn't afford one anyway!

So I'm not their target market. laugh

Maybe I’m in the minority here but if BMWs monstrosities have done anything it’s make this look a tad more subdued.

I’d be interested to know what Rolls’ traditional clientele (that are by all accounts so vital to them) think of the styling choices of the new breed of owner and overall affect on brand appeal, whilst they might have no interest in Cullinan and prefer Phantoms and Boat tails, I have seen so many Mansory-rivalling levels of distaste in interior colours in Cullianans and Ghots it’s unreal, some people really do have terrible taste

Yep, really odd comments, I don't know why he keeps banging on about it. China and the US are simply highly populated countries, we all know that's where they sell the most cars, but so what? It doesn't change the fact that this looks like it was designed for the nouveau riche. They may live anywhere, but there does seem to be a very high concentration of them in the Middle East.

It's an utterly hideous thing, about as far from a British luxury product as I can imagine, but I haven't been a fan of much that R-R have released under BMW ownership. They have very clearly put bottom line ahead of any sense of the brand's history and heritage, the modern stuff all looks like it was designed by an AI that's been asked to style "a Rolls-Royce for the 21st century". They ought to tell every "influencer" (aka self-important style vacuum) that tries to buy a new one to FRO.

Never understood why you'd spend so much on a car and spec it in wedding car white? I suppose with this car the darker colours risk you being hailed to go sarf of the river.

Love the Ghost but the other Rolls products are vomit to my eyes at least.

TBF the OP didn't say that the UAE is the biggest market, only that this car is the perfect spec for the UAE. Which is almost is (the seats need to be tan, or if you're feeling sporty, red).

I used to see one driving around where I lived in Auckland (by a Chinese family). Just so ugly. In black it looked like an oversized cab. I really don’t understand the appeal.

All companies need to adapt to the market or die. I'm sure there were people in the 50s who thought the same about Jaguar abandoning sidecars.

The fact is, RR's heritage has been in making expensive and exclusive methods of transport for the very well-heeled, and this is what the well-heeled want nowadays. The question is whether anyone wants a "British luxury product" any more - people certainly want luxury goods, but I don't think many people look to companies to act as arbiters of taste for them anymore. The customer is now king and will get what they want, not what is offered to them.

You don’t understand the appeal of ferrying your family around in the most luxurious/ comfiest/ quietest way possible? The general public don’t care about ‘steering feeling’ or ‘balance on the limit’ they want the most relaxing and pleasant way to be transported from A-B.
Why go holiday to the Maldives when there’s a beach in Blackpool.
