Same problem. Alfasud sprint, leaky boot.

Anyone know how the water usually leaks in that area on these cars?

My solution of having a rust hole in the floor to let the water out seems insufficient

Sunroof is your first port of call. If you've not got one, thank your lucky stars.

Next, try looking at the inside rear window where it seals to the lid. Chances are, on the inside it's mighty rusty....

The experience with my car is as soon as you get the slightest hint of moist inside it condenses on the windscreen and then (now I'm living in the frozen east.....) sets solid! Thats a right pain. Mind you no frosty morning is fun without a heater, but with the need to keep the sunroff open to provide air flow so it doesn't mist up again.

Feckin' kit cars!!!

Have the same problem on the 996...solution... OPEN your windows when you get into the car to drive with the demister full on. In my case it's my breath condensing on the inside which then freezes up.... also putting on the heater on full for the last 5 miles before home in the evening gets the screen dry on shorthaul..on longhaul it shouldn't be a problem!
