Note this was posted at 3:24am so plenty of day left to see cooler things

Seriously, that is fantastic! I'm hoping to be there in the Caterham sometime this year

Why, thank you.

The multi-coloured houses are at Menton, where I stayed the night. Didn't have chance to explore the town sadly, but its just up the road from Monaco, with probably more nightlife, restaurants and places to stay than Monaco, and more centralised whereas Monaco is a bit spread out.

A note on hotels.
Don't book any!

We have now done the holiday to Italy twice and never booked any hotels. It makes it more fun finding a good independant character place. Also means that if you really like a certain spot you can stay longer and then just change your onward route a bit.

Mazda has 250 mile range?
Griff has 200 mile range and only likes 98+ octane! Easy in Germany and France, not so in Italy.

Give Nick a ring at Dettaglio - he could (for a small fee) arrrange some hotels to your liking and plan aroute on the best roads - he knows all the great driving roads and can tailor the drive to suit your budget and the time available.
