...Mr L. Have a look at the MC12 if you want to see what really works.

Please tell me you're kidding?

The MC12 is one stunning piece of a race car:

Found out that you can drive these non-homolagted machines in Switzerland rather easily. Just buy yourself a car dealership and drive your MC12 with temporary garage plates which is fully legal. Heard of a FXX customer who did this.

Hey maybe I will... . It may drive well, but there's no denying it's ugly...just like the Enzo it's based on.

^^ now you're talking.... the original pics made it look like yet another 400-ft wide monster that's impossible to drive on normal roads. These pics make it look small and wieldy - compared to the Golf it's a bit wider but surely possible to drive on A roads without having to breathe in whenever a car passes...

I think the direct front-on and rear-on views let the car down, it's actually well resolved from the side, I can't see any glaring discontinuities. Nothing that can't be fixed with a different front bumper / splitter and rear bumper.

Then again for that money you shouldn't really have to arse about with modifications!

I reckon it makes a nice change from all these angular designs - it looks properly aerodynamic and smooth.
If it's wider than a Diablo it must be a bit of a nightmare to drive..

In reply to V6 GTO (2nd June), the original Zonda C12 used an unmodified version of the 6.0 litre V12 Mercedes engine with 394bhp.

The Zonda C12 S went to 7.0 litres AMG tuned motor with 500bhp. The current Zonda F has a 7.3 litre AMG motor with 650bhp in Clubsport trim.

When the Lotec Sirius was first shown in late 2003, the C12 was still on sale, hence the reference to the 6.0 litre V12, which forms the basis of the Lotec motor.

In reply to mybrainhurts (11th June), the name LOTEC comes from the fact that the man's name is Kurt Lotterschmid.

His company is thus called Lotec GmbH.

He used to have a joint company with Ferdinand Pietz, who went on to found Lotec Engineering, producer of turbo and supercharger conversions
for firms like Gemballa. I did once say to him that Lotec was not a good name for a high-tech company. He later changed it to TTP (Turbo Technik Pietz)!
But then his name is not Lotterschmid.
