WHERE IS IT NOW? Try to trace your old car
Discussion
My first - SJ54XDU (Pug 206) seems to still be kicking around.
I had this from 06-08 and it was ropey (for its age) then, having previously been owned by a Barry in Glasgow and then being heavily rear ended in my ownership, twice. I sold it as the engine kept cutting out, even though it was only on about 50k miles.
My second - KV07HEJ (Astra Sporthatch) - seems to be dead...
Date of liability of 2 weeks after I sold it.... It did have a problem then (and 90k miles on the clock) where it wouldn't start when warm. Is it in the scrapyard in the sky now? (Ask MID says that it isn't insured either?)
My third - LY07DBU (BMW 335i) got shipped off to NZ so it wont be listed which sees me in todays situation...
Shame about the Astra if it's true, was a good car and only 4.5 years old when I sold it, if not a little high on mileage.

Hi everyone
We are trying to trace a MG Midget 1500, 1975, red, LSC 170N, for a friends 60th birthday present. He owned it and loved it from new, but sold it to have kids in the 80's and now we would like to refresh him with his car and youth. The car was sold in Scotland. Anyone heard of it?
Many Thanks
Ben

i'd really like to find my old car. It was my dad's before i had it and he bought it new, kept it for 7 years before i had it and i then stupidly sold it some years ago, regretting it ever since. It's a mk1 Ford Mondeo 4x4 (which are quite rare i think) and is still on the road (shows as taxed and insured).
N56 BVN - black ford mondeo 4x4.
i hope it's being looked after as i know fords of this era sadly rust away but i have some really good memories of that car and it was really well looked after in our ownership.
Whoaa!! I've just looked at this thread and found my car!!N56 BVN - black ford mondeo 4x4.

Thank you so much for posting it up! Is that a recent photo? It looks amazing! I cant believe it not only still exists, it looks standard (apart from the clear side indicators), and looks to be in great condition!!!
Liquid Tuna, can you please give me more details and do you have any more pictures?

Apart from the clear side indicators, as far as I know it's standard (although it is missing the now standard feature of all mk1 and most mk2 Mondeos as there's no rust on either arch or around the petrol cap and no gaffer tape on the bumpers ) and everything on the car works, even the air-con, heated seats and the front quick-clear screen!!
In my ownership it's had a new clutch, new shocks and springs all round, air-con condenser and then just routine maintenance.
Did you buy the car with the RS kit and wheels from new? I know they were an option but you don't see many with the 17" RS wheels.
I realise that to most people it's just a quirky old mk1 Mondeo and not worth much but I love it! I had one before and did a quarter of a million miles in it before it rusted away. This one's only used as a 3rd or 4th car so doesn't see winter roads. Seems to be the best way to keep a Ford from that era from turning to dust
Let me know if you want any more details.

Hi, yes that photo is only a couple of weeks old. I've posted some more below.

My dad bought the car from new and he did indeed spec the RS kit and the 17" RS7 wheels. i remember them being really expensive and he kerbed one of them about a month into ownership. he was livid! they're not much cheaper to buy 2nd hand on ebay now either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps you could post it in the readers cars section if you wouldn't mind and I can ask more about it there?
