Perhaps you could post it in the readers cars section if you wouldn't mind and I can ask more about it there?
I've done that smile

I'd be very interested in the fate of these two - a Mercedes 280SLC ULR951X and a Lancia Gamma Coupe B519PGX. The first I should never have sold (unprompted the late great Roger Edwards told me it was the best 280 SL he'd driven - I know he wasn't flattering me because he would never pass comment on my 250CE no matter how many times I asked) - the second I should never have bought (I thought the bargain of the century at £853 from Coys - £2500, 18 months and a mere 600 nerve-wracking miles later I sold it on ebay for £800....). Neither are currently taxed according to the DVLA but I'd love to know if they survived...

Guys, a lot of cars were exported to Ireland so they may well live on there; especially since 2000 because we became stupidly wealthy and bought everything in the world! In recent years Ireland imports even more cars from the Uk, especially classics because they have very low tax compared to modern stuff.

Amazed to see that my old '74 Mini Marcos WGO114M is still going and it's still red. I wonder if the coach enamel job that I painstakingly did by hand is the current finish.

Well it is still about somewhere, DVLA says it is currently sorn, which expires in June next year. Maybe being restored somewhere?

I'm hunting for my Dads old 61 beetle. Reg number 7081KB. That plate is now on a VW Eos though, so I can only assume an age related plate is now on the beetle.
Any ideas where to start?

Last taxed in 2007 so very likely scrapped or sat rotting somewhere I'm afraid!

There was a very strange coincidence a few months ago when a fellow PH'er spotted our old Micra in Hythe after we sold it - we assumed it would be scrapped tongue out

In which case I'm hoping someone may be able to trace our old family car? 2002 Volvo V70 D5 - RE02 YPK smile

Hi All,

I'd love to see if any of these three are still about. I expect the Cortina to be around still but I bet its probably still not registered with the correct engine size (2.9 24v Cosworth hehe).

Ford Capri - D484 WUF
Ford Capri - C243 RFP
Forc Cortina - CMY 526T

Think those are all correct, its been a while. Thanks in anticipation!

Found 2 of my old cars on the DVLA website. My old Lotus Europa TC is there, and it's insured. It's now Black instead of the original color of Blue and Silver. My MK1 Lotus Cortina is in the DVLA website, again wrong color, it was a rare red one. Not insured though. But I know where it is, as it's been fully restored to original.

I managed to track down my dad's old Ferrari 328 GTS, he'd last seen it in 1997.

Fortunately being a Ferrari it hadn't changed hands many times since then and is apparently now with a "fanatic"

One of the previous owners was particularly helpful in telling me about the car's history with him
