Hi guys. This is a massive long shot but I'm looking for my dads old Jag. He sold it in 1999, when we moved abroad. I've recently moved back to the uk and I'd love to find it (and possibly buy it back). He had a personal plate on it, OO6 788, but it was originally a G reg. It's a XJS 5.2 V12 British racing green. Sold in 99 in Basingstoke. If anyone has any idea as to how I'd trace it I'd love to know! Thanks ??
Any luck ? If you can get the cars Vin number, that would be a huge help.

Still looking for my Late Dads third and last E Type.
He traded in his Regency Red E Type S.2 2 + 2 ( JXC 83 H ) for this very early built, 1971 V-12 2 + 2. Dad Bought it in early 1972.
Dad sold it in circa 1974.

It’s original plate is BJN 438K but in the late 80s, it received a private plate.
It was sold via Brightwells Leominster Auction in April 15, needing full restoration, but, predictably, they have refused to pass my details on to the buyer........

Hi there, I wondered if anyone on here was involved in my old BMW 635CSi.

NJI7057

White with Navy leather Recaros, manual. I stupidly sold it in 2004.

Currently showing as SORN with MOT expired in 2007...

...however last log book change was 20 June 2016 so hopefully it is being restored.

If you own it or know who does and it's being restored I have loads of pictures and history I can share.

If you own it or know who does and it's gathering dust I'll make you an offer.

Thanks.

If you know or can find the original G-reg number, then that will probably have been put back on the car when your dad took his private plate off it. And it could still be on it. At least that's how it works nowadays.

hi all, i was wondering if any one could help me here, im trying to trace my dads old ford capri sport Mk 3, ive sent a letter to the dvla and their no use, on their car checking site it says date of liability, 01/11/2001, and the status is unlicenced, im trying to trace it to see if it still exists and to possibly buy it, the car reg is A567 XWJ and it was white, little else is known as he sold it when i was born and sadly he died when i was 6 so i can ask any questions about it. if any 1 can be any help or if any one on here owns it and could let me know! thanks very much.

Hi chap I owned the Capri A567 XWJ for 8 years I brought from one of my neighbours in the 90s he owned it for a long time as well so probably got it from your Dad.
I had loads of fun in it then had to sell it due to buying a house so went in 2000 then the lad who bought if crashed it so I assume it was scrapped in 2001.

It is taxed till 2022, insured and the V5 was issued on the 24th January 2020, it passed the MOT on the 27th January 2021 with only a few advisories.

Can anybody advise me of any ways that I could track down my grandpa's old Vauxhall Carlton VHG 377V, he bought it new and traded it in in 1987 for a two year old Rover SD1, the V5 was last issued in April 1993, and it was last taxed in September 1993, so either it was written off/scrapped due to age or it bit the dust, or it is in a garage somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Interesting thread - I checked my S1 Elise on the MOT checker. Y66 WFC.
Bought it new as one of the last S1s and sold it at 38.5k mileage in 2005.

MOT checker says it has only done 3,500 miles in 16 years!

It is on SORN, but has an MOT till December 2021 after failing on rust, it was welded, is insured, and changed owners in July 2019. I suspect it is off the road over winter to protect it from the gritty roads, due to the usual BL rust issues.

It has not covered more than 1000 miles in the last few years

Am I right in thinking if I check on the GOV sites for an old reg number and it says no Tax or MOT that it is probably tucked up in a garage somewhere, or could it have a reg plate change and be happily and legally on the road somewhere?

Great thread, but sadly I can't add anything useful!

My only Capris were 2.8 Injections (as they were quicker as standard than a 3 litre)!

KGT 302Y and XTM 520X where are you now? laugh
Not sure about KGT302Y but XTM520X is alive and well and living in Orkney, the car has been there for most of its life I believe. A couple of pics from taken around 5 years ago

It took 38 long years to track down my Late Dads 1970 Hemi 426 Challenger R/TSE after he sold it to Simpsons of Wembley in early 1973.
I had suspected that it had gone to Sweden and in 2012, that was confirmed.

Ive also found his silver 71 V-12 E Type ( no info after it was sold @ Auction in April 2015 as yet )
And his last car, his 68 Maserati Ghibli, i found purely by chance, in Austria, with a Trader, on Car and Classic, in December 2018. Its still for sale @ a laughable £200 grand......

Glad to see this. I can't see the photos in the other thread properly as they'e blurred, but the seats almost look like buckets? I had a chance to buy it last year but missed out when selling a car of mine took longer than expected. Glad to see it is being looked after too, though I hope you don't modify her too much. Still love that car!

Don't worry I want to keep it standard as possible so the exhaust change is probably going to be the most drastic as prices seem to be shooting up with these RS models. Previous owner added the recaros:

Not surprised you loved it it's great fun to drive! Out of interest when did you own it?
