I have had a fair few marina's!
Coupes, 4 door saloons, vans and pick ups.
All long gone apart from 1.
EXC 722L Morris marina coupe 1.3 super
In 1999 I bought the coupe from the breakers, apparently it was stored in a garage for about 15 years then it ended up at the breakers.
The engine was seized. It only done 27,000 miles. So I stripped the engine and fitted with all new parts.
Ran very sweetly! Overhauled the drum brakes.
Had it moted still on its original cross ply tyres!
I stupidity sold it in 2002 too cheap.
It's STILL on the road taxed and tested till next year.
For years I have been trying to find out to my Dad's two Suntor Marina campers. I've tried owners clubs and about 15 years ago even had a plea in Practical Classics.

The cars have an interesting (ish) early history and if still around I guess they would have enthusiast owners who may be interested.

KUN 949 P A white Suntor
KUN 955 P A green Suntor

I guess they could be registered as fans rather than campers.

Built by Torcars of High Bulken, Gt Torrington, Devon in 1976 and owned by them until I guess about 1978/9

I found out by someone on here doing a check on my first car that it has since gone to the motorway in the sky.
Was a hateful unreliable heap of a car, but it was my mums first brand new car, and both my brother and myselfs first car. So had some history and it did hurt a bit to learn it was gone.

Other 2 are still alive, i drive past my old car on the way to the office.

Tax expired at the end of Dec 2003 and DVLA have no MOT records, so it sounds like it's long gone.
Ok but many thanks anyway.

He had another 2 after that one, K667 PTR (730i) and R266 EOS (740i). If you don't mind looking again I would love to find at least one of them?!

Thanks a lot.
They're both untaxed with no MOT. You can check any car here: https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/

Trying to find what happened to one of my first cars R71 WJF. Was a Megane cabriolet and a young lass bought it who looked like she was going to crash it as soon as she drove away with it. 8 years on I wonder if its still living?

Any source of N224 LWY? My first car.

Sold in march 2012, but it's showing as not insured on the MID.

I don't particularly want to buy it back, but I have many memories attached and would like to know where it's upto.

No power steering, no ABS but a whopping 5 speed gearbox. Many adventures taken in that stbox, but it did it.....with only a few minor breakdowns.

hi i am trying to find an old car that my teaching assistants husband used to have. the car was a blue mini clubman estate. all i know is that it was dark blue and they sold it in the 1980s. dvla doesnt come up with anything and i have tried all of the manufacturers that made the mini clubman. the number plate was AUA713J. if you find i please let me know.

i am also looking for my mums old Citroen saxo vts.it was a p or s reg and was sold on in 2002 or 2003.
i think it was silver but i cannot find it on the dvla.

the only good news is i have had success finding my grandads vauxhall Astra gte which was made in 1989. it was white and the reg was f731cwr. dvla says it has ended up at the motorway in the sky sadly. its probably been turned into bake bean cans!!!!!. my grandad had many memories of the car. he said someone tried to break into it but when he bashed the door lock he hit it that hard that he nearly broke his hand lol!!!!!!!. the car was involved with a bank robbery in the mid 1990s.the car lived 13 years in total which is pretty good considering it was stolen once and crashed once. it had 130 000 miles on the clock when e got rid of it.

hi i have found your grandads car on the dvla. i have some good news and some bad news.
i will have to start off with the bad news.
the car was been off the road since 1981.
it says the car is grey.

the good news is it could be still around in someones garage rotting away. the owner might be prepaired to sell it if it is still around.
i will do my best to find some more history about it so you can maybe buy it.

Hi all, great little feature of the site I've just stumbled across!

I'm looking to regain ownership of my Grey Mk2 Golf GTi. I know the guy I sold it to ended up putting a VR6 running gear into it, and taking some of the desirable parts off to claw some money back. But, I would love to have it back.

Reg G130 UHX

Anyone know where it might be? It's not been taxed for a while so I reckon it's sat in a workshop somewhere.

Cheers,

Dave.

I'm trying to track down my Grandmother's old Mercedes.

The story behind the car, is apparently it was a one-off/limited edition, factory built. It had a subtle bodykit all around and was lower than standard. It had some 5 spoke wheels, something like Koenig or Zender. The kit was similar to the carat duchatelet kits of that era, however searching through all the options I can find, it's not like anything I can see on image search.

It was on a private plate when sold, OSK 421, but a couple of years ago I saw the plate on a Skoda estate, so the car should be on it's original plate, NST 178Y, which tallies up with the vehicle check on DVLA. It was traded in to Macrae and Dick Inverness in the late 90s/early 00s and last we heard, it was up in Stornoway somewhere.

I can get some pictures, but as they're physical photos, I'd have to commandeer a scanner from somewhere to get them on here.

NST 178Y

Vehicle make MERCEDES
Date of first registration 01 April 1983
Year of manufacture 1983
Cylinder capacity (cc) 2746cc
