'95 Golf 1.4 - Scrapped
'08 Vectra 1.8 - Seems to still be in use; taxed but no MOT.
'07 Signum 2.0T - Tax and MOT! Loved that car, wish I still had it, did so much to it.
'08 MX-5 1.8 - Tax + MOT.
'06 BMW 320d - Can't remember the reg but it was an oilburner on less than 70k when I sold it so surely still going.
'06 MX-5 2.0 - Tax but no MOT. I did blow it up though before palming it off to WBAC.
'09 BMW 320i - I know this one's still about as I saw it the other day, the bloke's tinted it all out and put M badges on it though!

Hi all,

This is a MASSIVE long shot, but I'm going to give it a go.

Many years ago (2005 to be precise), I [stupidly] p/x'ed my 205 GTi 1.9 for a new car.

It was resprayed black with a slight green flip, and had a Gutmann front bumper/splitter and a Gutmann badge on the back.

It's a 1991, the number plate on it was MJI 3170.

I've checked on DVLA and it says it's still alive / sorn, so I'm hoping that someone, somewhere has it - maybe in their garage or something. Or, someone knows where it might be.

After much digging, I found this post on another forum from 2010, which sounds like it could be the same car: http://pscuk.net/threads/68402-guttman-205?highlig...

By the commentary on the forum, it sounds like the poor thing has been ruined, but I'm hoping there's something to salvage.

I've posted on various other forums, but if anyone knows anything at all, it would mean a massive deal to me. I'd love to know as I'm actually interested in buying it back, whatever condition it's in.

If anyone knows anything whatsoever, please get in touch!

Many thanks in advance.

Oli

In some ways I would love to know how the old girl is and since this post I have wondered a couple of times...especially when I see other similar cars. However, I suspect it's a bit like an old girlfriend - memories are best left in the past!

Its not been taxed since 1992, so I don't think your chances are looking too good

Ohh dear
It's amazing what you find browsing PH!

I bought the M3 off you and still own it. Fair play it's been a great car.

I replaced the plate with the one in the pics and put the M3 plate on the Pug.

2005 Porsche Boxster - originally silver and I had it resprayed krypton green. Boxster S style exhaust, turbo style alloys which I believe have since been painted black, quite unusual cocoa leather interior and brown roof.

Someone posted on PH previously that his mate was selling it. Wonder where it is now.

Hi , i'm looking to Trace my Recently Deceased Grandad's old Morris Minor LRG 47 , it brings back so many good memories and would love to have first refusal if the current owner is looking to sell in the future .
I think its still on the go somewhere in the aberdeenshire area , if someone has any info on its whereabouts i would be grateful .
hi i have found your grandads car on the dvla. i have some good news and some bad news.
i will have to start off with the bad news.
the car was been off the road since 1981.
it says the car is grey.

the good news is it could be still around in someones garage rotting away. the owner might be prepaired to sell it if it is still around.
i will do my best to find some more history about it so you can maybe buy it.
Thanks for the info Cascroft , any further info would be gratefully received , would love to own and restore the car if i could .

Last Known Wherabouts was Mr Anderson , Old road in Huntly Aberdeenshire , not seen it about there after having visited the area recently , so looking for any assistance

I've found a useful tool for gaining information on your old cars, all you need is the make and number plate.

I knew you could get old MOT info on the DVLA website but you used to need the V5 number or an MOT number, not anymore!

Enjoy, I wasted an hour last night looking at my old cars!

According to that website, my previous Smart, written off in 2009 by having a Mercedes ML up its back end, has tax and MOT to October 2015 scratchchin

Registration is DG57 FYD. Smart ForTwo Pulse

Hmmm.
Putting my old back from the dead Smart into the mot-history.net site above, there are a few more details on MOT tests and mileage, I can't remember how many miles it had done before the crash. October is here and it has no tax or MOT now. I'll be keeping an eye on it to see if it gets an MOT or if it is gone this time.

Written off in 2009, on the road in 2010, done a few thousand miles each year with the occasional MOT fail or advisory, until this month.

Here it is in April 2009, where it was declared as a write off. The story is in the crashed cars thread (posted December 3rd 2010, page 10 of 49 in my jumbo pages settings), but I was rear ended while stationary by a Mercedes ML, over the road, up the kerb and through the bollards on the front of the garage I was turning in to.

I was knocked out and have no memory of it. I remember getting up in the office to go to the car, then waking up in hospital a few days later, sore and stiff.

I'd love to buy my old Lotus Elan back.

N-reg, red M100 S2 limited edition number 716.

DVLA website says it's currently sorned......shame, should be on the road - a car is meant to be driven.

Hi,

I'm trying to locate a Black 2.8i Capri that was once owned by my brother, we would dearly love to get it back in the family. The Reg is EPR55Y and it is currently SORN, it was on the South coast last I heard........
