It`s a Falcon Bermuda, not an Ashley. Not too pretty tho` is it!
Well done that man
I was actually looking for a picture of the Falcon Caribbean which was a slightly prettier looking car, and one that I nearly bought a few years back, but stumbled upon the Bermuda and couldn't resist.
Your turn
See if you can find a picture of the Falcon 212 or the Falcon Competition. I want to redress this idea that Falcons were ugly. The 212 was designed by Tom Rohonyi and looks like a 250-series Ferrari, and the Competition looks like a Jaguar D-Type.
Ettore - I've got a brief comment about the origins of Piper in a book - sounds like David Piper offered some track-only racers for Le Mans and F3 use, but by the time the road cars came along, he hadn't got anything to do with it any more.
It could, of course, be a different David Piper too, but I find it most unlikely.

Well,I am the lucky owner!A bit of history, the car was built in 68 by dulon. There is a piper connection too the body was started by piper but was 2ft longer! You can see in the mallory pic it uses the same screen as the red piper following. The car was built for a chap called Fred Lyons who raced it from 1970/74.It was sold to John Chatham in 74 and sat in a shed until 1999.I bought it in 99 and tarcal restored it.The car has been completely renovated but still has the original body gearbox chassis etc.
The piccy of the car at mallory was at a top hat meeting in october 2005.It was on pole position won the race and set fastest lap!.
If you look carefully you will notice the car is not symetrical front on.I think this sums up the industry of the 60s that we could all 'build somethin and have a go'.
This era of racing is what inspired my ambition to have a racer and this fulfils my dream. The car was featured in track and race car magazine in 2004/5 sometime with a 6 page article if you like the car then have a look at the studio pics

John Chatham's father, Joe, used to live about a quarter of a mile from where I live now. I knew John as a customer of ours and as a fellow racer. In 1982, I had just sold a successfull hillclimb and sprint Clan Crusader, having won the ASWMC championship and was looking for another project. John asked me if I would be interested in rebiulding the Dulon and took me to see it in Joe's garage. At that time it was on four wheels but fairly well dismantled and had an FVC Cosworth engine sitting beside it on the floor. The piccy of the car at mallory was at a top hat meeting in october 2005.It was on pole position won the race and set fastest lap!.

I didn't take the opportunity and rebuilt a Ginetta G12 with the friend that had shared the Clan with me. He still has the Ginetta and will be competing at Oulton Park this weekend with it.
