What's this car then.

My Father Leslie Margetts designed and made the bodywork for the LD6 GT, 2 were made one road and one race car, we still have loads of sketches and photos, I really love the look of the car. Unfortunately my father passed away 2 years ago and he never really got full credit for designing such a sexy looking GT car.

Dulon Cars were built in Didcot by Andrew DU-ncan and Bill LON-gley and they made their reputation with a number of quite successful F Ford and FF2000 cars as well as some small capacity Sports Cars.

Another late poster on this topic.
I own and have restored a Piper GTT and indeed the red car is a very well known car.
The Piper company was established in 1966 by George Henrotte who was the owner of Campbell`s Garage in Hayes, Bob Gayler fronted up the technical side and Tony Hilder was the designer.
The first model was the GT, followed by the GTT and then the P2 which was 6 inches longer and had the pop up headlights. There was also a very nice Le Mans car made the GTR
There were, I think just under 100 Pipers made across all models but this number varies as some had the same chassis number and parts were reused.
All can be found on www.thepiperclub.org.uk
Just looking at that reg no. & something jogged my memory, did that particular car used to be lime green originally?I own and have restored a Piper GTT and indeed the red car is a very well known car.

Courtesy of the historic experts over at Autosport, Dulon made only one LD6 GT; the one pictured is the only one, originally built for a guy called Fred Lyons.Dulon Cars were built in Didcot by Andrew DU-ncan and Bill LON-gley and they made their reputation with a number of quite successful F Ford and FF2000 cars as well as some small capacity Sports Cars.
Earlier, two of the attractive LD6 sports-coupes were built, one each a racing and road-going version.
