Just popped in from the other thread.

Absolute bilge, a complete waste of time without one redeeming feature. Wooden presenting, awful banter, no personality, tedious features (DJing? Al Gore? Crushing a Golf nono), Genuinely painful to watch, I will not be watching again.

If this were the only motoring programme on TV I would not watch it.

I really hope Ch.5 read this and can the series. Go away and come back with something watchable.

Having missed it and ever a sucker for punishment, is it repeated at some point during the week?

Redmax, I implore you, don't do it. Find something better to do, watch paint dry perhaps, beat your tongue waifer thin with a meat tenderiser and nail it to the floor with a croquet hoop

If you watch it you'll walk away infuriated that the biggest pile of shite ever to declare itself a motoring programme has just robbed you of precious moments of your life. There's so much more you could do with an hour.

That's the way to do it. They need to take note and buck up, or just cancel the show.

I really want to defend this programme against the bashing you lot have been giving it...you know, being English about it and supporting the under dog. So even though it wasnt great I shall dutifully sit down and watch it next week. At the end of the day Top Gear is going to be a long way off....Yes this is the best defence I can muster....sorry 5th Gear...did my best for you....

Really, don't bother.

It wasn't even so bad it was good. It was just bad.

I bet the TopGear production team are rubbing their hands together. And so they should be.

Their main rival just opened their new series with a bowl of stagnant pi$$. Excuse my French mods.

That was a million miles from the end of last series, truly awful, what has happened?
They’ll never have the chemistry of the TG team so don’t try, just get on with the features and drop the matey chat thing, it doesn’t work at all. Why crush the Golf?? What was the point confused Just what kind of audience are you aiming at that will find the crushing of a car, for no reason other than the act itself, entertaining? The Al Gore thing....no probing questions asked or any intelligent information presented at all to back up views. And just WHAT were they thinking with the spiky haired “innit” cretin telling us about tyre pressures and chip fat?? Truly scraping the barrel as far as I’m concerned. Oh, and it’s a bloody FILTER They seem to have their hearts set on making the crushing thing a regular feature, next time maybe they can arrange it so the new boy cant get out of the car, I had high hopes this week but unfortunately he managed to get out in time, thanks. The evo feature was ok but seen the plane thing somewhere before... The golf gti cone dodging thing was also good but I found Bentley’s rapid tongue movements in a moment of concentration quite unnerving. The only hope I have is that, like last series, it started poor and got very good towards the end of the series. But I have to say that tonights show was worse than anything from last series by a mile, imo of course. Thanks for listening hehe

Ps - maybe we should start a petition to get rid of fifth gear?? hehe

This thread has produced infinitely more entertainment for me than the 10 mins of 5th Gear I managed to watch!

Ads at 8.06 really takes the piss, I jumped onto the computer after the ad break to see what threads had popped up on here (no surprises there are three...) and when the bloke started telling me that I can save 4p/mile by driving at 70mph on the motorway instead of 80, I had no choice but to turn the TV off.

Leo -- gagging for more TG.

Flipping heck.

I haven't read what the previous 8 pages of posters have said, but I can only assume it's along the lines of

"What an absolute load of drivel"

That was just embarrassing.
