the seats don't fold on mine, so it will never be as quick as a Corsa. It does have an armrest and ski hatch though, which knocks 2 seconds off the 0-60 time when flat
My front passenger seat folds down in addition to the rear backrest. That's when you know you're driving a serious performance car.

Do you think split-folding rear seats were developed with oval racing in mind?

Anyone got a link to the thread from a Corsa owners club where a guy was saying he folded down the back seats and opened the glovebox to make his car weigh less? thumbup
OK, so it won't make it weigh less, but...

...it will handle better due to the lower centre of gravity!!nerd

(in fact, I hear the new M3 will have 'glovebox open' and 'rear seats folded down' as tickable options, and the M3 CSL will have this as standard..)

hehe

I'm surprised that that contributor was able to get away with the remark that Corsa engines - " are not powerful enough to pull back a Jew's foreskins ". Apart from the Thought Police looking to feel his collar, he is lucky that Lord Greville Janner, who will persecute those who are anti-semitical at the drop of a hat, has notr asked questions in the House and had that forum banned !

Are you saying that Lord Janner is in any way wrong or misguided for for pursuing those who are anti semitic. If yes, why? And if no, how is he persecuting them?

not only would it lower the cofg in the vertical plane, would it not also send the cofg towards the front of the car in the horizontal plane... thus increasing it's tendancy to understeer? biggrin

This thread is classic. Really can't imagine how anyone could work that out in there head as being true! Going to go home, fold down all six seats in my mums 807 and go for a drive! Sure will make it FQ! If he's that into seating position weight reduction, maybe he should invest in a people carrier, then at least he could remove the seats when he wants that extra bit of performance making his assumptions more accurate.

After gaining all that extra speed you may need to lose it in a hurry. Painting your brake drums will massively improve stopping power. Allegedly. rolleyes

Also, keeping all the vehicle's fluids, oil, hydraulic fluid etc at the minimum level to save weight and centrifugal force going round corners.

remember a thread on a Golf forum where the guy was taking out the screws on the interior of his Mk2 Golf to reduce weight, and then using glue to put everything back on....

You can imagine this conversation...

"Dizee dearest, would you mind popping to the shops to get me some vagiclean?"
"But muuum it's nearly time for myth busters"

Couple of minutes thinking time pass... idea

"Alright, I'll have to put the seats down though to make sure I get back in time"

I think a picture of the bloke would be interesting. If this kind of logic is common amongst people of his ilk, it might explain why they all yoofs look so painfully thin.

I genuinely wonder whether he takes a dump before he goes out for a drive too...?

Anyone going to PM him to confirm his identity?
