Strange that you randomly start posting this content, in the way that you're posting it..
Wake up call, Wil
You're odd.

And it's the school holidays.

I know, you want to design a Draggy Mac. And you need only Mac's carbon cell. It shouldn't be a problem especially for you.

Guys - this has been a fairly tidy 232 page thread up to this point. Perhaps take the needless banter elsewhere?

A chap brought the Lark liveried F1 to the PH meet last weekend. Obviously it was awesome, but what got me was the sheer lack of steering lock it had. To park it took 56 attempts at shuffling to and fro.

I assume the road car is less restricted than that?

Road car doesn't have power steer. Arm wrestling is a must.

The first shot is either #042 or #065 depending on when you took it as those were the two silver F1s that spent the most time in the F1 showroom on Park Lane in London. Both of those cars are now in the USA and one of them has been resprayed in red.

The last two are shots of #037 taken in 1999 at the IAA (aka: Frankfurt Motorshow). That car is in South Africa now and was just seen this past weekend at the Kyalami race track.

It wasn't the effort that surprised, just the lack of steering lock available. If a road car is the same, it must be a real pain.

See, snivels are smeared on the Park Lane show glass. I asked the duty man: why? We didn't see it - his answer.

Park Lane was the only one McLaren showroom that time. That was something. And the best Mac's workshop was Woking.

There is a lock on road car.

There is a lock on road car.
Refering to lock-to-lock (ie, how much angle can be achieved on the front wheels), rather than an actual device for locking the steering wheel.

GTR's steering rack is less 'at home' on the road than the roadcars. And I think Peloton25 was talking that there had been at least 2 silver F1's in that showroom, not at the same time, but it depends when the pic was taken as to which of the cars it was

That angle could be calculated easily even without factory books. Turning cycle - 42,7 ft. Wheelbase - 107.0 in. Track f/r - 61,7/58 in. Make a drawing and calculate, then multiply by 2. You could get the steering gear ratio too knowing turns lock to lock - 2,8. Frankly, that angle varies on the same cars especially cooked in the oven. Recall: engine power - enough, top speed - approx... I know, everybody has summer holidays.

Whilst this goes against my not feeding trolls policy, I'm intrigued by what value you believe your posts are bringing..
