Never even realised that about the wheels.. Bloody brilliant work.
In fairness...This feature of the wheels was purely fortuitous, rather than being my, or anyone's bight idea.
Nobody in the world makes the right sized (and shaped) forged blanks in mag, and I've not been able to locate any in the right shape in AL. I didn't feel like shelling out £250k+ to make forging tooling from scratch. I wasn't too keen on cast. That left 2- and 3-piece options.
The 3-piece option is great for getting the weight down, but it is in the inescapable nature of the design concept that there will be a "wrinkle" around the rim, at a radius just beyond the end of the spokes. What you're seeing is that wrinkle.

Flemke,
Given your love of the Rocket and high quality motorsport-derived British engineering and design, what do you think about this very interesting vehicle produced by the Briggs bros ?

Personally i was a bit uncertain (new company, another track day special etc), but the following Autocar review is an eye-opener...

Very interested to hear your thoughts....

I'm afraid that I have no thoughts worthy of the name.
I've not driven one, not heard of it until now (and thank you for bringing it to my attention), and have so much to do that I can't possibly get sufficient use out of the cars that I have now. For the past several years, a chap has been making for me a front-engine version of something like this, except with more power for the same weight. When that is done, I don't know how I'll find the time to do it justice, much less to get interested in another thing.
Cheers.

I really like the look of the car Flemke.
That colour is superb.
Will the brakes be upgraded in Germany?
Yes. The pads and discs have been sitting there since last year. The plan was to fit them the Monday after the Friday when the car was involved in that little fender-bender on the Autobahn. That colour is superb.

I want to get the brakes fitted, tested, and adjusted whilst the weather is still good over there. October looks like the time.

Not happy with the interior, the interior annoys me, but I'm waiting to change it until I know what would be right.

Did you ever consider adding a white panel in the roof intake to match the bonnet one?
Not sure about the doodle, think it would need to bee seen in real life to get a proper grasp of it.
Of far more importance. How is the car driving after all the suspension/brakes and repair work?
Yes, but that would make the design too choppy, so to speak. It's meant to be v dark blue, with a couple of white bits to create tension. Too much white and you'd lose the tension, because then it wouldn't be dark blue w a couple bits, but rather blue-and-white.Not sure about the doodle, think it would need to bee seen in real life to get a proper grasp of it.

The modest step that you are suggesting would not make it truly blue-and-white, but it would start to push the design in that direction.
Driving it fine. It's still somewhat intimidating, but the driving experience has not changed at all. We've made a few functional improvements, nothing major. Also, now I think of it, I forgot to try connecting my iPod and using the sound system with it.

Any chance of a walkaround video Flemke? Maybe tack on a few throttle blips and a getaway? Perlease.
I'm guessing that my request is being scoffed at and indeed seeming selfish and frivolous. I'd agree.

Having owned a dark blue car (E39 Saloon in Biarritz Blue), I do miss the variant shades that daylight & sunlight offered up.
Out of interest I once had a custom built road bike frame (thank you Chas Roberts) that I had painted a medium/dark blue frame & deep purple forks & rear triangle, which I loved, although a bit dated these days. I've wondered, if the slat and strakes were a similar very deep purple how it might look.

I had assumed that was the case, and it's very understandable to be fair. My thinking was that many here including myself may never get to see an F1, yet alone your example of the breed.

Your username is based on the name of someone that was racing 'hot rods' when they first started to appear. You like modifying cars.
You have gone for pinstriping on the F1.
I believe you may have posted a number of pictures of early oval and dirt track cars.
Are you a closet rodder Flemke?
Flemke, is this your McLaren?
