That Jason Dawes and his side kick skeletor in used car roadshow is utter garbage.. Caught it the other day, was clearly bored. Dawes just gets on my nerves...

As for Mike Brewer, bit of a cheeky chappy at first, then realise he is an utter horses arse!

Do you mean Penny Mallory? She was the ladies rally champion in the early nineties I think and also a "precision" stunt driver.

Maybe he should do the sarnies and his missus can do the cars.

He particularly "endeared" himself to Caterham 7 owners a few years ago by essentially rubbishing the car in a comparison test with the Lotus Elise and MGF.
When he bumped into the Lotus 7 Club contingent at Le Mans the following year, they put him right

They might want to have a word with Jason Plato too - he's stated that he hates Caterhams.

I would like to have a word with Jason Plato. Just Caterhams don't come into it at all.

Marshal a BTCC race... theres a good chance he'll punt himself off and you can have a nice chat then

Funniest thing I saw with Mike Brewer: can't remember which show it was, but he was basically showing how you can buy cheap and make a profit. Not the buy and restore thing, just a bit of the show. Might have been Wheeler Dealers. Anyway, he went to a big dealer and bought an XR2 that they had taken as a trade in. He was doing his usual with the dealer - "let's 'ave a deal" type stuff. Whilst the salesman was inside doing his sums, Brewer was telling the viewers how to make sure you get a good car. He said he could skirt most of the advice, as having been in the trade for years he knows a good 'un when he sees it. Bought the car, took it to his friendly garage to get an MoT - make it worth more innit - and it was a total crock of scensoredt laugh There was so much wrong with it that the cost of repair was more than he paid for the car. He put it through an auction and took a big loss. Yes indeed, a total ccensoredk rofl

^^^ There was another one like that with a small 4x4. Hoping to pimp it up with roll bars etc. Put it though the MOT and it failed so badly on rust (I think) that had to sell it as an off-roader.

Unfortunately, it is now difficult to avoid him as his programmes seem to make up an awfully high percentage of the new channel "Discovery Turbo".

Bring back "Discovery Wings".

Too right, Eric. I went on holiday in February and when got back it had disappeared. Mind you, the "Wings" element had started to be replaced slowly by trains and things.

Just seen the episode mentioned in the OP. I see what you mean about him making a big deal of non issues. The guy discounted the mondeo because Mike basically guaranteed there would be a £350 bill for suspension and £1000 bill for replacement injectors at 40,000 miles. rolleyes

I used to love it when they came to sell the car in question, and the actor who "pretends to buy the car" asks some really odd questions, it just so happened that they ask about all the work he's just done to it.

All very staged and rather annoying, "alllwight fella, 'old out yer 'and, lets av a deal"

Although, i am told he's actually a nice bloke in person, i still hate his presenting style alot.

Cheeky Chappie Mike is a complete CHOPPER! He really is a consumate bullsiht artist! I agree entirely with the original poster-he's a horse's cock & spouts copious amounts of excrement. He really does the car trade no favours at all. Would YOU buy a car from Brewer??! Give me Quentin Wilson everytime, even if he was a bit naughty clocking cars a few years ago......

last night he picked up that 3 series beemers will need new supension arms or something.. it probably happens on 10 of the 10000 they sell every year but he makes a stupid point out of it, and said that the s2000 needs an engine rebuild? what the one that never goes wrong!
and then someone was looking for a big pulling truck, he had a ford ranger and the mitsu one but said they were 'lemons' because they had scratches and dents on them! they are for pulling houses along the road, of course they will be scratched, not exactly a lemon though is it. prick

I remember this, quality TV. Anyone got a clip?
