Hey Steve, have we spoken before.. maybe at the black tie and pie bash?

Anyhow, the car in picture is my 1955 Old School cal look Beetle I guess at heart I'm an aircooled fan, having 2 and currently seeking a split van

I believe that Mr green and I simply got off on the wrong foot.. next time I'll lead huhbiglaugh

Nice to see a classic car enthusiast on here.
Welcome!
Makes a nice change from the usual modernist plastic afficionados.

And an aircooled enthusiast also.
Since I got my 993 back from the dealer Ive been driving it around Germany and have gotten the single handed "W" "air cooled" no worries sign from cars all the way from Merc 190s to VW Beetles (REAL beetles) which is nice. Where as all I seemed to get in the UK was the "Nescafe" wanker shake!

Im pleasantly suprised to find more older classic cars here in Munich than in other parts of Germany Ive ventured to.
Ive so far seen an absolutely immaculate late 1960s Alfa Giulia, a similarly immaculate late seventies Ascona (German Cavalier) and a pristine Ford Taunus (Cortina). I only hope my BMW becomes as beautiful when it is finished.

Edinburgh City Council is considering the banning of cars over 15 years old from the town centre.

Just because a bunch of politicos wants to do something doesn't mean we have to go along with it. We still live in a democracy, though it's good to keep warning people about this sort of thing.

You don't live in London, do you? They do whatever they want here - we never get asked for our views...

That number 10 website is pointless now anyway. This is because :

a) It's one of Tony Blair's "listening" ideas, and thus it was always doomed to failure

b) The anti-road pricing petition not only proved that Blair & Co were never really prepared to listen to any petition raised on there, no matter how much support it got. We can now see that thier tactic has been to let the media storm die down, and then set about re-introducing exactly the same old proposals quietly with better marketing.

c) The road pricing petition gave the ePetitions website it's "15 minutes of fame". Now the thing has reams of "dickhead" petitions on it, and the whole thing is devalued as an attempt at political discourse (which of course it wasn't anyway - it was merely to give the impression of discourse)

Perhaps it would be a good idea to raise an ePetition for the scrapping of the ePetitions website now? At least it would save a few quid and I think Gordon needs every penny right now...
