STOP!!!!!

Scam the scammer!!!

We'll bid it up to 30k on ebay, he'll buy it from you for more than you want and then once you've got the money we disappear.

Sorted.

One cannot be told what goatse is, one must experience it for themselves. This is an injoke from before the web was much less sanitised.

Goodnight sweet prince... wink

Ed, another pic of the BBC news

I'm selling Jody Scheckter's old car.
Cool! I've been in that car. Through work, I had to go and visit Jody Scheckter a year or two ago and he drove me round his farm in the Touareg while handing out his own farm's biltong. Probably the only time I'll ever be chauffered around by an F1 world champion!

Maybe the Ebay seller is doing the scam where he is hoping his listing will fetch more than £22,500 for the Touareg. He then buys the car from you and sells it on to his Ebay buyer for a profit.

Contact the seller and ask to view the car. When something is sorted out (unlikely but stick with it), turn up in the car and watch their face..... oh, and a couple of members of the local constabulary should be there too!

Ok, its never going to happen because the seller will string along some rubbish excuse and probably drop out before anything actually happens. But hey, worth a try I suppose...

This pissed me off, so I sent this question. (cheerfully edited)

You have been rumbled

Can you tell me why you have hijacked this advert from an advert on pistonheads classifieds?

I am an active member of the forums and have just read a post from the REAL owner of this car.

It can be found here http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/176163.htm

I suggest you scummy barsteward that you remove this advert before I contact the police, understand?

Your not scamming one of ours.

Flock off.

i had this a few years ago, i had put a bike on e bay, some scammer had just taken my listing and copied it, while mine was still on there!!, do what i did and just tell e bay, it wont stay on there for long, or if you would like we could all send them really tricky questions.

ebay page now says said:
This listing (260135515557) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.
If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it cancelled. Note: Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay.
Vigilante at work, hehe I'll expect a letter bomb any time soon...

Well it might have taken a rather sideways and unexpected turn of post(!) but the end result is the ad does seem to have been removed. So thanks to all (some more than others!) - its been, err, educational!.
