£2000 for a shed - I think this has all gone a little wrong.

A monkey should cover a shed.

Please please please - £500 sheds from now on - I don't care if the MOT is only for 2 months.

I agree, a shed should be something you could buy for the novelty of it as long as it would last a couple of months - any more would be a bonus. Therefore around £500 is right with something like the S class cabrio being acceptable at the £1k level as an absolute top limit.

Christ, wish people wouldn't compaire the VTS with the GTI-6, they only share the engine! VTS has 5 speed box and the one i drove certainly didnt handle like a GTI-6. Would have been a good shed @ around £900 though!!

I think the shediness of a car depends somewhat on the cars original value. For example I would consider a mega mileage early 90's Merc S600 which originally cost over 100K new and is selling for 1600 quid a shed.

A lot of money for a so so warm hatch.

Hunt about and there are 306 GTi-6's out there for that kind of wedge. 10 times the car.
nono only 1 1/2 times the car. They are very similar to drive, plus the xsara gearbox tends to be more robust.

306 is still a better car, but only by a small margin
The gearbox of a GTI-6 is about the most robust thing in the car. Never had I heard of any of those failing. Plus it derived from a motorsport gearbox, so it's properly sorted.

Whenever I see those Xsara VTSs, I can't help but wonder if Citroen were taking the piss with the ride height. They're a bit on the off-roader side of things! (standard at least).

The one true shed of the week is http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=... though wink

I agree with the guys here.

I love shed of the week, but £500 - £800 is real shed money. £1900 is a decent secondhand car money. Not really shed money. Sort it out guys! smile

I agree that £2k is too much for a shed, but if your gonna do that amount, there's so many more interesting cars out there. I mean, come on, a Citroen Xsara in a crap colour?!

Here's my alternative £2k 'shed': http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/174480.htm

Much more interesting...
