saab have always had there own engines and suspensions, that's what's different from vauxhaul. you can get 300-350bhp from a saab 9-5 engine quite easily. above that it costs serious money and alot swapped out parts.

I'm pretty sure this 2.8 is a Saab/GM shared engine. Not sure where it originated...

It is a design from the riccardo stable with lots of Saab input
lost track where it is made tho
all saab variants of gm engines have modifications to the oil delivery system to increase the longeivty of the engine ....

the 9-5 engine is good for 300 ish hp...more hp needs changed internals
however the previous engine design( the 204 and 234 engines) are good for 500 hp on std internals ...Gm downgrading again
