Using laws of motion, stopping distance alone from 172mile/h assuming an average decel of 1.0g (typical value for good performance tyres on a your average dry road surface, potentially 1.1 or 1.2 on a test track) is 301m.

Highway code says a reaction time of 0.68s IIRC so that's another 52m, more likely reaction time is a 1 second from seeing something to applying braking so that would be an 77m, so total distance would be the order of 350 to 380m assuming the driver hit the brakes hard enough to achieve full decel, (which most people generally don't, hence brake assist systems being fitted to cars). 500m is pessimistic, but not entirely unrealistic.
I'm not sure, but I think your post is a load of nonsense hehe

What have Newtons Laws of Motion got to do with the braking force achieved by a car? How can you "assume" average deceleration of 1G? It will be different for different cars.

The deciding factor is the width and compound of tire coupled with the braking force achieved by the Porsche brakes surely?

Also, "assuming the driver hit the brakes hard enough to achieve full decel, (which most people generally don't, hence brake assist systems being fitted to cars)" seems also irrelevant to me.

If you need to stop in an emergency, you stamp on the brakes as hard as you can and let ABS sort it out.

I'm not condoning 172mph by the way.

Got to say though, that this chap has managed to flush his life down the toilet pretty well. Fired from his job, done for taking without consent and now 10 weeks in clink for massive speeding. I cannot quite see him getting a job in the motor industry once he comes out. Most employers are not going to trust him with a barge-pole now - can he be trusted?

A moments bad judgment and a life-time of regret.

You are missing out the condition of the road surface as well...

Interesting. scratchchin Now, what is the stopping time of a fully loaded 747 on a conveyer belt?

Life time of regret? Nah, noone was hurt & it wasn't much of a career anyway - he'll get another job in another industry and move on.

AND that's if that happens! I knew someone who ran a prestige car dealership and had an employee who was given a final warning. After accepting the warning, he then took cash from the safe, a £60k car "on a customer demo" and took it abroad. Eventually nabbed and prosecuted for theft, but a year later was seen working in another prestige car dealership!

yes
Anyone who has been to VMAX will tell you a 996/997 TT will brake from 172mph to 0 in a lot less than 500 metres. Eg, in dry conditions 190 to 0 has been done in <400 metres......
Sky news claimed he took 600+ metres to stop scratchchin

So your kids are alive but could still be attacked by the Paedo left to roam free.

No, because the paedo said he wouldn't do it again.
