It was before I was born but my dad used to have one of these. This was when they already had two kids. Then I came along and it got a bit impractical, I still think they're sh1t cool smile

There's one in the town over from me and I swear to God if it ever goes up for sale I'm buying it

A 520 that covered 250,000, mostly covered by him.

Unusual kei car, the Honda Beat. A joy to drive - 3 cyl thrum, midengined handling, skinny tyres, unassisted powersteering, soft top.

Part Hyundi Stella, part turbo forced reardrive hooligan. Questionable handling, but road pressence and straight line grunt. Auto gives interesting kickdown!

road legal fast road/race TR4. Will set off car alarms in small side streets, and sounds like a plane between 3-4Krpm. Great fun, a bit stiff for rough roads.

With abit of persuading from me my dad went from a Golf 1.6se, and a honda crv to a merc sl350 with amg body kit, and a 996 4s. Then changed both for E320cdi, 997 4s- I chose the colour red with black wheels!!!! SWEET....

80s Aston V8 Vantage in Jade Green metallic is the runner up.

But the car he should never have sold was the Shelby Mustang GT500. Coolest car ever.

Dad had a 1972 Ford Capri 3000GT, well before I was around though.

Mum owned a mark 1 Ford Escort 1300L as her first car and then a mark 2 Escort Popular 1100.

After they got married and Dad got rid of the mark 2 Escort (too slow for him), they had a Vauxhall Chevette which got written off (low speed though) with me in it aged 12 days.

ford capri
vauxhall cavalier 2.0 CD saloon - the fastest cavalier ever built, that car was much quicker than our friend's hatch version. plus it was in white and looked like an unmarked cop car so used to get waved through by traffic cops in town centres when my dad and his workmates were in it suited up.
saab 900 turbo in black - 68,000 miles in 18 months.

Probably one of these:

Rebuilt from not much more than a shell. Quite lovely.

This one isn't his, I don't have any pictures of his.

good choice

my dad has a terrible car history, some of his previous crimes are as follows

Morris marina
Morris Ital (the marina was so good he bought another one)
Austin Allegro
renault 19
citroen ZX (decent car, but why not buy the way better looking but mechanically identicle 306)
rover 420 diesel
VW bora (crappy model golf, with an ungainly and impracticle boot, they drive absolutely terribly aswel)

he could quite honestly say his best car was a cortina GL mkV estate... yay dad.
