Gotta agree you can't beat it - not overly keen on the big scoop though.http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=47&i=14850
Did that ever make production / did many/any get sold?

They've already built a modern Cobra though - it's called the Dodge Viper.
...nothing to see here, move along.....
Yes but the viper has this thing that makes nearly everybody behind it's wheel look like a cock....nothing to see here, move along.....
And you cannot replace a car that is such a living legend and that has a V8 with something that has a V10.
I like it! alot!
OK, How much ? or is that to rude a question at this stage? I want one....The Cobra has come of age.
Ever kids bedroom will have her on his/her wall. Love it, even though it has not got a Ford lump, Do Ford even do a 427 lump, or 7 ltrs for that matter >
Go for it, and it's Maltese to boot!

Ho ho the pistons heads headline made me chuckle, 'normally glass fibre bodied and built in somebody's garage' Surely thats not far off what is being described here i.e 'we'll a build one first, then maybe 20 eventually'
Im not sure it being Maltese is a good thing though; it's hardy the hub of specialist automtive manufacturing is it; any specialist machining will have to be done offshore, and warranty returns will be 'interesting'
I do get a little deja vu with all these 'world beater type aunches though; why 'launch' from a dodgy computor graphic pic basis; surely much better to actually build a working prototype and then have something to show the buying public? I do agree that the 1st pic looks a lot better than the 2nd one, but I do somehow think a good modern replica is a less painless way to get the same kicks (I admit to being partisan here; I'm on my 3rd cobra replica LOL)

The thing is, these 'virtual launches' are generally used to not only drum up interest, but also financial backing. Once they have enough fiscal interest from these renderings, they go ahead and make a prototype, which is then reviewed, which in turn drums up more financial interest etc etc.Im not sure it being Maltese is a good thing though; it's hardy the hub of specialist automtive manufacturing is it; any specialist machining will have to be done offshore, and warranty returns will be 'interesting'

In this modern age of engineering, it seems to be the only way of doing it unless you have a billionaire backer.

My eyes, my eyes errrghh.
Why start with a pretty car if you are going to do that to it?

Anyone can do a sexy sketch but, I'm sorry, this cannot be credible without an authentic Ford V8. That's the starting point surely?
why? It's not an original Cobra, the original Cobra wasn't made by ford, and the new one isn't either the original manufacturer, or the original car. So why not use a better engine if one is available?Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
