My condolences to his family, he fought tirelessly for the rights of the driver in the face of our ridiculous government...

A real loss...
Echo the sentiment.
A voice of reason in a sea of gibbering idiots that purports to be a government.

What a loss, my thoughts are for his family.

And for his fellow motorists, who have lost one of the few voices of reason and independent debate.

This is the one thread where myself and every other poster seems to agree !!
Just shows how valued Paul's work was.

Terrible shame for his partner, family and of course, the cause that he so eloquently & rationally championed.
Best wishes to immediate family.

Very sad, he was one of a kind, very few people have the courage and conviction to fight for a cause these days, Paul was exceptional. Condolences to his family and Claire in particular.

I'll add my condolences. I rarely post but this is truly astonishingly bad news. As as been said, Paul Smith was unique and it's hard to imagine that any one else will be able to commit to the role he filled.
RIP and thanks for what you achieved.

I'm shocked to the core. This is terrible news, for a family to lose someone at such an age.

At least Paul died doing something that he was deeply passionate and dedicated to, and his epitaph will show that he did something genuinely useful with his life.

RIP Paul, and condolences to your family and friends.

What a real shame - It's rare these days you see someone with such integrity fight so tirelessly for a cause they truly believe is right

Let's hope that somewhere in the motoring community a Paul Smith Memorial is created to annually recognise the activities of individuals who promote the cause of road safety in Paul's eminently practical manner

RIP.

A good man who cared enough about his passion to shift his arse & do something.

We that are left are the poorer for his passing.

Condolences to his friends & family.
