This is truly terrible, one of the few level headed amongst the masses of loons out there who don't really understand what they bark on about. My thoughts are with family and friends, truly a sad day....

My deepest condolences.

Very sad news - the campaign for common sense policing on the roads will be much poorer.

Paul's untimely death could almost certainly lead to others losing their lives on the road thanks to Labour's malpractice.

Very sad to hear this news.

Paul was often the lone outspoken voice of reason and sanity.

He will be greatly missed.

I'd like to add this - for all Paul's work against nutters like Brake, never mind the people who run this country...

I'm just an ordinary bloke who loves cars. I don't believe this terrible news. Paul was a genuine voice of reason and I hope that his work on Safe Speed continues. There would be no better tribute to him.

Terrible, terrible news. I liaised with Paul many times over the last few years and he was always a pleasure to work with.

I don't think I've ever encountered anyone who's put so much effort into deconstructing the spin and lies that pollute our media every day.

RIP Paul. You were one a one off.

I thought this thread was some kind of sick joke.

R.I.P. Paul, and thank you for all the good work you have done over the last few years.

I notice the Wiki article on SafeSpeed is woeful. I'm a regular contributor to Wiki so I'll clean it up.

He was a truly lovely man. I spoke with him a few times on the phone. Sincere.. brave.. he did a lot on the meagrest of budgets .. but hard work.. money problems .. fighting und fighting.. it not easy. He not well. We tell him to take easy .. but he so determined in his work.

For his memory - we must keep on with his work. Sing his praises as loudly as we can.

My thoughts are with his family und Claire who also a very brave woman too but one who need our help.. supports too.

RIP Liebster Paulie. May you have best of fun driving toppest cars at safest speed up in heaven cloud9 where speed cameras are banned.

The world ist a poorer place without this man. He will be missed by all of us.

I suddenly feel the need to go and burn a speed camera as a mark of respect and in recognition of a great man.

That's terrible news, especially at that age. Sincere condolences to his family & friends. Just goes to show there's no justice - Paul's gone and all the ill-informed cretins from Brake, The Gov't, etc. are still around.

Not his biggest fan - he needed more money to spend on PR. However, one of the few who had the courage of his convictions to stand up, be counted, and take on the system.

He was only on here yesterday, still pushing the cause.

I will miss him.

At least he will be somewhere free of Gatso's and this y government.

RIP Paul, men of your conviction are sadly missing in this country.

Sad news indeed. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. A great loss to them and to motoring enthusiasts.

At least he's unlikely to bump into his old adversaries ... they'll be in 'the other place'.
