Michiel- does "mutts nuts" translate into Dutch wink ?
???????
Sorry-our peculiar English terminology- for Mutts nuts read Dog's boocks (testicles).- or simply "Gorgeous/exquisite- DESIRABLE !cool

Believe me it is a term meaning flattery for your designs -I'll call you when I win the UK Lottery. Thanks for bringing elegant innovation to car design. biggrin:

Alles klaar?

In Dutch dogs are pets and IMO their testicles aren't worth admiring. Funny guys, those Brits wink

Alles Klaar = Alles Klar = German!

FFS! watch your tongue sir!

Top stuff from our man Michiel.

Funny the Corvette was mentioned . . . A exquisite body on that . . . lick
I think the English term "Dogs boocks" refers to the absolute pinnicle of greatness. The reasons why the 'dog's boocks' are considered to be the top of the tree aren't clear. Dogs do enjoy licking them of course, but there's no evidence that links the coining of this phrase to that. It is most likely that this is just a nonsense phrase, coined because it sounds good. In that, it would join a long list of earlier nonsense phrases, e.g. 'the cat's pyjamas', 'the bee's knees' etc.

The word boocks, meaning testicles has been part of the language since the 18th century, but didn't become used to mean nonsense until the early 20th century. The 'dog's boocks' seems to have originated in Britain in the late 1980s. At that time the scurrilous magazine Viz used the term frequently. For example, they used it in the title of an issue in 1989:

"Viz: the dog's boocks: the best of issues 26 to 31."

It isn't clear that that is the origin - Viz's writer's frequently latched on to any vaguely obscene street slang and printed it.

'boocks' has long had street cred as a swearword amongst the English young. The Sex Pistols' 1977 album 'Never Mind The boocks, Here's The Sex Pistols', no doubt brought the word to greater prominence.

Since the phrase came into use some alternatives have emerged - 'the pooches privates' and, more successfully, 'the mutt's nuts'.

Alles klaar kan je zeker in het Nederlands zegen.

Its good to see that some old ideas come back, such as coach building on standard rolling chassis....
That's all well and good when there acshly IS a chassis. My budget does not stretch to Ferraris, but almost every car I have ever owned is monocoque (sp?) construction, and I think the Ferraris are also monocoque, old coque. So things like this are less about draping an elegant body over a standard chassis and more about pimping your expensive ride.
According to the 2007 issue of the Swiss publication "Katalog der Automobil Revue/Catalogue de la Revue Automobile," all current Ferraris are built on aluminum spaceframes.

BTW you worry about whether you misspelled monocoque, and yet you say "acshly?" wink

Thing is though, when are we going to see any cars? You know, metal and rubber and stuff.
I noticed nobody addressed this scratchchin The pictures are lovely, and I've little doubt the partners are talented craftspeople, but, to be blunt, there's a credibility gap until something can be seen in the metal.

Indeed, as "J111" replied... Michiel, how far are we off to see something in the metal? E.g. clay models, orders, ...?

Would be really interesting to know, but nevertheless the answer, I fully support your enterprise seeing those gorgeous pics (both GTO & convertible)...

The phase we're in right now with the GTO, the GT Convertible and recently a 612 Shooting Break as well, is a very personal process.
Once the clients are fully satisfied with the final design and all the personal custom details we can release more.
Please be patient. wink

How can we be patient, seeing those pics? :-)

I'm just wondering, do you build the car from scratch, just based on the 3D models, or do you build clay models, prototypes, testcars, ...

From what I read you are in the process of discussing possible orders, so this is already one step ahead to make dreams reality. Good for you!
