Who's that then Al Qaeda or the Lying F*ckers who started this illegal war? as far as I am aware we had no terrorist threats in the UK before we attacked Afghanistan.

Cannot really blame them for retaliating (point of principle)
67 British people killed on 9/11.

Can't see the taliban allowing you or anybody else to talk or object to anything once they achieve their aim of a worldwide islamic state, women with bags on their heads, not allowed to even be educated, innocent victims whipped for being raped, beheaded for calling a teddy mohammed, worldwide riots for cartoons that Allah didn't dislike enough to personally intervene about etc etc, I think this rather complex issue is going to provoke more and more antipathy against islam, and although the west is pretty guilty, extreme islam is a pretty unpleasant thought. Big shame that the Dakar is off, bigger shame that people are still dying for forgotten causes.
What he said

AlQ attacked the twin towers in 1993. They also attacked US interests in the Middle East pre 9/11, we just didn't recognise the threat at the time.

THEY started it? I rather think you'll find the west has been attacking the middle east since the middle ages. Y'know, Christians saying 'believe in my god or i'll kill you. And while i'm here i'll have all your land, gold and myrrh'. That sort of thing.

We have a local guy that has prepared vehicles to the tune of over a million squids, and its looking like a total loss. Cause we all know acts of terrorism don't count for pay outs. Its the thin edge what else is going to be cancelled, and how are organisations going to feel about pouring thousands into events that get cancelled on the eleventh hour.

I think we have had a ceasation of hostilities since then and IIRC we did give then their land back.
Bad move in hindsight as it turned out to have all the oil. (Dohh!)
So we appear to have had peace since the end of the middle ages until 9/11 when they decided to kick off again.
However I do seem to recall a bit of a spat between 1939 and 1945 when we sent jerry packing from North Africa.

But thats OK guys, no need to thank us, just try to take over the world and kill people for no reason
you in barbarrians.
FYI it's the 21st century move on, leave your savige ways behind you bunch of zealots.

Talk about holding a grudge! LET IT GO!!

The region has been far from peaceful in the years since 1945, and certainly not free of western intervention, if not overt intervention.

they are still a bunch of over zealous religeous barbarrians.
9/11 was unprovoked, uncalled for and aimed at a soft target.

If they had not attacked on 9/11 there would be no (illegal) war in Afganistan or Iraq.
They played right into Bush's hands. tts!

Once Bush had momentum and had troops in the area there was no stopping him.
Once he had whipped up a frenzy about the war against terror he just pointed the finger at anyone he had a beef with and Saddam fitted the bill. The factthat he was a bad lad just helped him.
He is still trying to pick a fight with Iran.

This is about the Dakar guys! You fellas spitting at each other does not help, people have differnt views, we all know that - the war is on, wrong or not! Its unfair for all the people that have spent time and money getting ready for the event. The Dakar will come again that is certain, the future of any war is not, Dakar wins hands down.
If you guys want to keep falling out with each other, join your army and do it properly.
