Renault is offering a free 48 hour test drive. Book at http://www.renault24td.co.uk/?WT.mc_id=LAGAVI16 and Avis call you to arrange delivery and collection. No sales calls from Renault at all! Mine arrived on Thursday morning and will be picked up on Monday pm, result.

Skoda is doing a 48 hour test drive (Roomster)as is Jeep with the Grand Cherokee, but these involve booking with the dealer and sales pressure. Mindy you Francesca at the Jeep dealer sounds a honey so I might be taking her up on her offer.

The 'guna is rather better than I thought it would be to be honest. Depreciation free motoring at its best.

"1. The Renault UK 24 Hour Laguna test drive programme is open to 21 year olds or over who are resident within the United Kingdom or the British Isles who hold a full clean driving licence."

The amount of people in this country who've recieved 3 points from our friends in the safety camera partnership will probably rule out a lot. Me included with my 3 points frown Could use a comfy cruiser for a couple of days hehe

It asks you to fill in company details? Is this not for business users only?

Also it's 24 hours NOT 48!!

I saw an advert for the Laguna just now. I see they mentioned something along the lines of 'driving pleasure' and the estate is now apparently a 'sports tourer'. Suprised the Advertising Standards Agency hasn't been called in

Wasnt the lat Laguna meant to be a pretty decent drive, let down by crap build quality, and Electric Everything made from Frances finest rusty fusewire?

Nowt wrong with a Laguna (so long as I'm not paying for depreciation!).
The best looking alternative is the Alfa 159. cool
(SORRY, EDIT TO ADD, MONDEO IS THE BEST ALTERNATIVE BY FAR).

(BMWs Mercedes, and VAGs don't count as they just say 'trying too hard darling') tongue out

It grows on you the more you see I reckon. Not saying its a great looker but its not fugly in a way a 307cc for example is.

I remember reading of someone using a Vauxhall offer to get to a job interview miles away.

Customer - "I'd like to book you 48 hour offer please for next Weds thru Fri if possible"
Vauxhall - "Certainly sir. Now, the Vectra comes in 3 body styles, saloon, hatchback and estate which would sir like"
Customer - "Don't mind"
Vauxhall - "Riiight. We'll put you down for hatch then"
Customer - "Cool"
Vauxhall - "What trim level would you like to try"
Customer - "Don't mind"
Vauxhall - "Ooook, how about the LS"
Customer - "Cool"
Vauxhall - "So, would sir like to try a petrol or diesel version"
Customer - "Don't mind"
Vauxhall - "Riiiight. Preferred engine size?"
Customer - "Don't mind"
Vauxhall - "All booked"
Customer - "Thanks!"
