I personally welcome DR and The Road as they are helping to raise awareness of decent online mags.
(auto-journals.com is undergoing its own complete revamp and will be fully functional later this summer.)
What is The Road, David?(auto-journals.com is undergoing its own complete revamp and will be fully functional later this summer.)
Good news about the Auto Journals update - although I think by the time you publish my article from last year the car will be long gone
Preview video looks great, professionally filmed and some interesting stuff.
Looking forward to some new ideas and expansion on the internet formats looking to the future - personally we have never had it so good as motoring enthusiasts so why moan and bh about something that hasn't even started yet
To be able to actually see and hear a feature car in action will add to the words and pictures IMO.
Looking forward to the launch Steve.
I am looking forward to Nervys new adventure too - he is my favourite
- suckle the teet*
I know it's a bit late in the day but can't Nervy lobby his chums to retitle it Drivers' Monarchy and refer to it's members as subjects?
I think Albion's done democarcy and as evidenced by the quality of the capital's chieftan, it's a poor mechanism when it's controls are served up universally.

Is this going to be a site for socialist/communist drivers? I only ask because there's big red star on the upper left hand side beside DR. I seem to remember it being quite popular with some of history's more unsavoury characters. Perhaps we'll be able to read about how wonderful the upcoming increase in the London CC is and how awful those nasty chaps at Porsche are.
On the other hand maybe it's just trendy branding.
Given the guys involved though, it should be a good read.

I've just been made redundant, so if any of these need a motoring journalist, get in touch.
No, I'm actually being serious, I really have just lost my job. Please phone me, I have a mortgage to pay.
Must. Keep. Stiff. Upper. Lip.
Surely you could do a lot worse than call Harrison Metcalfe - he has a couple of vacancies at the moment......No, I'm actually being serious, I really have just lost my job. Please phone me, I have a mortgage to pay.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some of Nervy's previous digit-tapping? Everyone's waxing lyrical, and I'm intrigued to know what I've missed...!
I write for 'Total 911 magazine' and also for 'Road' which is an e-zine like DR and due to launch next month. Back copies and subscriptions are available at oh-so-reasonable rates (except for Road which is free- but you can still pay me if you like). Im also an established rofl hunter. I have a big trumpet-ended gun and everything.Just found out about Bov and Dickies departure. A real shame, and an even bigger shame that they're going to hide themselves on the internet.
Now I'm all for wasting time on the internet, but it simply isn't the printed page! Not even if it's on some fancy piece of 'liquid paper' or an iPhone, an internet magazine (I refuse to call it a webzine) just can't compare to cold hard printed glossy. I've been aware of Winding Road for over a year now and even tried to read it once or twice. The journalism in it is great and the pictures are brilliant but I never read it anymore because:
1. If I want to read it, I need the internet, or at the very least some sort of computer device.
2. If I want to read it on the bog then I need some kind of portable computing device which inevitably has a screen that cannot display an entire page at once which

half a sentence at a time.
3. Once I've read it, it takes up precious space I could be using for porn on my HDD.
Now some of you may argue that you could print it out. Yes indeed you can, however this then results in a day playing 'let's pretend to be a book binder' as you juggle 200 sheets of A4 on the john and attempt to reconstruct some 2 page spread of a Lotus Elise which is divided accross two pages BECAUSE IT WAS DESIGNED TO BE PRINTED IN A MAGAZINE! Furthermore, I don't know about you, but I don't have a readily available industrial printer either and holding a rapidly disintegrating pile of 70Gsm Tesco Value office paper isn't quite the same as a tightly bound professional quality publication.
So it is with great sadness that I say cheerio to Meaden and Bovingdon. I will undoubtedly watch some videos online (most definitely Chris Harris' ones) but I will most likely give up on reading any lengthy articles.
Just as a note to Harry at Evo......perhaps you should join in this cross media platform rubbish to keep up. I'm sure that a 2000page flickbook of Porter driving an LP640 next month would be really good. Why on earth would I ever go back to watching videos on the internet................
