The person who said the buyers and sellers are all crew members in wrong, i know the woman who sold him the mini moke , she has nothing to do with the production company.

One of the things I like about it is that they buy quite a few old cars that either I've owned or would still quite like to own. The best bit is that they are all in most peoples financial reach and (allowing for the fact it's TV) it makes it seem more real, and more fun!

No idea why this TV prog winds some people up so much

I'm in the US and i stumbled upon this show and I love it. Sure they don't make much off the cars and would loose money if ed's labor costs were included but they do a quality repair and its neat to see the tricks
Can you understand Brewer? smile

Ahh you guys sound all the same to me...... I like the show idea and I do think that those are real buyers and sellers I am sure they do a "re-enactment" on a lot of stuff. We need an american version of this show now

The episodes featuring the 928 (wow look at the quality of engineering) and the 944 Turbo (look there's nothing wrong with it) help convince my Wife that a 944 Turbo would make a good every day car for me....

I think its great fun stuff, nothing too serious. Plus Ed is a really nice chap & very happy to get his hands dirty, I did a few TV things with him in the past for Discovery.

Funny enough Ed used to be friends with my brother back in the early Beetle days (early 80's I guess)

Mr Brewer is all too keen to buy the pups though hehe

Spotted Ed the other day on the telly using a parafin bath right next to the electrical distribution board for the workshop - Health & Safety would have a fit!

I quite enjoy it. Its only short and easy to watch. I like the way they play 2 back to back on Discovery Turbo.

The prices always shock me. They buy a lot of stuff that is really going up in value. The 944 turbo they picked up for about 3k, they are more like 7-8k now. I think that episode was only a couple of years old as well!!

A colleague of mine used to work for Edd. I think his business didn't make a lot of money until the TV stuff starting coming in.
Who'd a thought, motorised sofas, and sheds not being a big seller. FFS !!!!

Yep, found it on HD Theatre and have it tivo'd thumbup They did a two parter on an old C4 vette the other day that was quite interesting, although I was laughing at the 5.7ltr with a whopping 206bhp power output.

Did you see him do the mini? That was funny seeing him squeeze in it.
He's heading towards 7ft IIRC.

Is a "catalogue model" for HIGH & MIGHTY clothing too (or was)

Quite often see High & Mighty showing up on the end credits so entirely possible.

Being 6ft7 myself, and formerly what was known as a "fat fker" I used to shop there, he was in the catalogue, usually with a load of rugby blokes

Wheeler Dealers (Ed Chima more to the point) was a large part of the reason I bought the old G1 Insight, it inspired me to actually get on & do it.

I'm pretty good mechanically & so I thought "I fancy a go at that" & thus far it's been great fun, to the point where when it's finished & I'm driving it I'll look for another snotter to bring back to life.

Mike Brewer however is a weapons grade cock.

Have to say, I like the show. I've picked up quite a bit of knowledge from some of the programmes regarding basic body repairs etc.. Good harmless bit of TV.nerd
