the headroom in an integra is amazing aswell, im 6'1" and theres a good 3-4inches above my head
I'm 6'8" and I've just test driven a white DC2. I fit in ok and I could drive it but I would need the seats being put back a bit further to make it comfortable.

Anyone driven one of these and a clio 172 cup? Also can anyone suggest a good insurer for a 24 year old with 1 year NCD? Admiral were quoting £400ish which isn't bad really!

yes

Clio entertaining but doesn't compare. Driving position poor, build quality very variable, gearchange mediocre. Chassis and engine very good, but even there the 'teg feels a little more 'class'.

My friend who has a 172 cup drove me to the garage to test drive the teg! He keeps threatening to buy a dc5. He hasn't driven a dc2 and I've only breifly driven both, but the teg did feel more special. I really want to go back and buy it right now, but it just doesn't make sense to leave parked up for 2months. I'll just have to be patient and find a good one later in the year.

I used to drive with the seats back a bit but I tend to put 'em a few inches fw to get the quick steering done proper. I guess I'm improving my skills . . .

Well I pick it up on Saturday! Going to leave the seats where they are for now and see how I get on.

How did you get on Aspen?

I'm 6'7" and find it pretty good for legroom, it's the narrowness of the seat base that I find a squeeze, I'm no lard-arse either! As said the boot is cavernous (it's really a hatchback more than a coupe but shhhh) kids go in the back comfortably, not great for adults as the headroom is lacking.

Turned out to be a very useful thread, looking at 350Zs next but not so sure now! Especially as it's got four new RE010s and brakes all round so corners and stops as well as it goes now!

Just passed one of these today in Warrington; big daft boy racer rear wing, ridiculous decals down the side and a huge, "makes me sound like a V8" exhaust.
Proper street race, clear road, neck and neck at the lights; and then go and I feel a bit of pity and don't just drop the clutch on the off chance that he doesn't want a race.... anyway that annoying screaming vtec wound me right up. I ended up dry bumming him with both turbos.
I only wish I'd properly humiliated him instead of giving him a chance.
Terrible looking, tracksuit bottoms tucked into it's socks wearing, chav mobile piece of poo.

Are you 12?

I think what you were trying to say was:
Saw a chaved up ITR today driven by a typical chav. Being a big man I felt the need to race it off the lights. I was faster. I don't really like ITRs.

Mind you I didn't stop to think that racing on the road is illegal and posting about it on the net might not be a clever idea. But then I like to say things like "I ended up dry bumming him with both turbos". Which makes me sound like a pre-pubesant boy.

Your GTO is the only car I can remember that got one star in 'evo' magazine.

It got one star and was then removed from The Knowledge altogether on the basis that it was a terrible car. Whereas the DC2, even when ruined by a dustbin exhaust and decals etc. is still an infinitely better driver's car and would murder a two-tonne GTO on track. This may be a blanket statement but only complete cocks who know nothing about cars drive GTOs.

Opps just noticed this reply!

I'm getting on fine for leg room. I rarely get uncomfortable in the car and when I do its only because I've been driving for long periods. Seats are really good. Not sure I'd fancy a car without Recaro/Recaro style seats now.

Boot is massive and has served me well on camping and mountain biking trips. Due to my height, my bike is pretty big but fits in easily with the seats down and the front wheel off.

I think I'd really miss it if I sold it so my plan is to hold on to it until I can afford a second car.

Had my black UK Teg for nearly 7 years now, still a great drive! Only 44k on the clock, but freshened up the suspension recently with new OEM bushings. Had two separate guys knock on the door recently asking how much, just got the other half a cvt jazz and don't really need two cars, considered letting the Teg go, even said I would, but just cant bring myself to do it. Nothing else out there even for double the money that offers similar huge fun/ practicality (huge boot)/ reliability (never misses a beat, no oil loss ever), it's a true all rounder.

yes

I ended up buying another one about 18mths after selling the first. It'd be a hard call which of the ITR and the NSX I'd sell if/when I have to get rid of one of them - the NSX is awesome, but it's 4x the value of the 'teg and only truly more fun* on 'big' roads.

* Note "fun" - the NSX is so much more special, but the 'teg is just SO right for a driver!

Did you ever sell the 'teg Alex?

14 years on from my first example, a well serviced Integra today with 100k miles still feels like new, due to the over engineering that has been honed throughout the car. I used to tussle with a well driven chipped Renault 172 cup in 2001. Wonder how long that car has been in the scrapyard for?
