The Gennadi Design Company say customers have until August 31st if they want their GT's to be turned into convertibles.
So far only 100 customers have come forward - which would probably make the GTX-1 a very expensive commodity in years to come.
Regarding the Ford GT, it seems a very quiet car, do Ford have a "GT sports exhaust" that can alter this or is it up to customers to source their own exhaust system?
1000bhp - the mind boggles!
There are a few exhausts for the GT, mine is stock and whilst it doesn't sound like the Vanquish, it has a nice deep burble. It's failed the noise police at Goodwood and is 106db at 4,500 rpm - so it seems quiet from the drivers seat, but is actually moderately loud.

On the Clarkson DVD (The Good, Bad, Ugly) he was in America at Willow Springs racetrack hammering the GTX-1, the noise it made was so loud he was shouting in order not to be drowned out by the din.

On my 5.1 surround cinema system it sounded absolutely breathtaking, I'd thought the best engine note was from the Zonda F, but I stand corrected, I think it was a Ford Racing "Borla" exhaust system.

Have you had any problems with the alarm system in your GT?
I know Clarkson took his car back to Ford 3 times eventually giving up and getting his money back (which seems a bit extreme since surely he could've simply had the faulty alarm removed and had a reputable alarm installed in it's place)

JC had one of the first GT's in the UK and the tracker anti-theft system was positioned incorrectly leading to some false alarms. Also I understand he tried to jump start the GT from the trickle charger, which caused further electrical problems. The GT is a big V8 lump and an ickle trickle won't crank it!

Not had a single problem with mine, I've driven across France in it (coast to coast), fast at Le Mans, Goodwood and all over the UK. It's bullet proof.

The Ford GT is the only car in the world that I would consider going out on a limb to buy.

I think it is one of the most stunning cars ever built.

clearly that's only my opinion smile
My opinion too! I've owned a few beautiful cars and a couple of supercars, but the GT is the most beautiful to look at and a stunning looking (and performing) engine too.

I had a good hoon in France recently with a old mate - I thought the two looked interesting together...

The F40 looks as if it's been designed with half an eye on 'trying' to look like a supercar while the GT just 'is' a supercar.
If it were a woman it'd be Liv Tyler.

Hi Dave!! You're a tease aren't you?!

I'm working on two principles at the moment.

1. I must have the only bone stock FGT out there

2. It's cheaper my way!

That pic is gorgeous - I assume the full whipple jobbie too.

Always toyed with the idea of getting a good replica,i should fit at 6'3". Still one of the best looking cars,if not the best.smokin
I doubt you'd fit in - I have a Ford GT and at your height it's tight, the replicas are smaller...
I agree, I am only just over 6' and I don't fit in a replica - even with a Gurney Bubble it is still b**tard uncomfortable!

Don't fit in the Stratos replica either!
Don't give up, I'm 6'1", and am considering buying a GT40 kit. I have sat in one where there was enough room above my head for a helmet.

A lot depends on position and rake of the fitted seat.

Most kits give you almost unlimited movement of the pedalbox, cos theres nothing in front of it. So even at 6' 3" you shouldn't really have a problem.

If you are interested I could give you the name of someone who's done/does this for customers.

As an example RCR will even adapt the floor plan in their monocot for you if need be.

Jason - all part of the service.wink

Neil that is a great shot taken by a French PH'er Deprem when I took the car down to LM for the Drivers Parade, he must have caught up with us in the car park late evening - nice work. That car has everything on it, Whipple, KW Suspension, AP 6 pots and Tango. Not a bad way to spend a weekend. smile

Hope you're keeping well.
