I saw the photographer at the scene. He looked like a bit of a simpleton so I assumed he had to be from the Sun. What was far more amusing was the conversation that went on betweenthe emergency services and the Romans employee driving the thing before it shot up in flames.

As the fire crew arrived they asked the driver who's car it was.
"My boss" He answered
"Is he still inside?" asked the fireman.
"Unfortunately not...." He replied.

I've attached some more photos I took at the time!

Emm, why would there be emergency services personnel present before it shot up in flames?

??

I think it's meant to read that the conversation was between the Romans' employee who was driving the car before it caught fire and the emergency services? (which is how i read it!)

I was there for the duration, so the conversation happened long after it shot up in flames. I think the firecrew arrived about 10 mins after smoke first started to appear.

But hey - thanks for ruining a perfectly amusing anecdote with your pedantic observation regarding possible ambiguity.

Next time I have something to share I'll do it within another less grammatically discerning forum.

Because they wanted to let the owner know before filling it with water? Because they wanted to enquire what sort of fire it was etc etc...... I have no idea.

prob the chap standing next to it, one would presume.... (Whether he actually was or not does not matter, he was the occupant when it decided to go up in smoke)

That's a surprisingly upsetting photo... a Ferrari doesn't deserve that sort of death.

If I remember my Yr9 chemistry correctly, it's caused by a combination of fuel, oxygen and heat.

That photo is now my PC wallpaper.

There's something mesmerising about a Ferrari on fire. I can't stop staring at it!

I know its trendy to have smoked glass on a black sports car, but i'm pretty sure thats taking it too far.

Looks better than my car even after its been toasted.

I read somewhere about a girl who survived a Ferrari smash because she was thrown from the car. Think her dad died in the accident from burns - a lot/some of the car was apparently made from Magnesium which I remember from my dim past at school, burns very well.
