I do like it when cars crop up in wonderful, unusual colour combinations. Check this out.

Individual Le Mans Blue E65 45i with Oyster and piano inlays. Some nice spec too, comfort seats, rear entertainment etc.

Also under ten bags.

Specification on this is amazing, although £17k seems quite a lot?

What were these new, £80/90?

I really like that, but I suspect it may need to be cheaper yet before it finds a buyer.

I thought cars like this were being exported to far away lands where right hand drive works and fuel is less taxed. Now that gbp is even weaker is this still going on?

I don't think cars like that are. Cheap RHD cars like that are coming here from Japan, rather than being exported. It's propely expensive cars like air-cooled 911s that are going abroad from the UK at the moment, and of course LHD is at a premium for most UK export markets (even the Japanese prefer LHD for anything seen as 'special'.

Quick Google search -

Top export destinations include : Ireland, Malta, Cyprus, New Zealand, Australia, Mauritius, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Abu Dhabi, Falkland Islands, Nigeria and much of sub-Saharan Africa.

Google gives you a handy list of the top UK export markets for £5K 7-series, does it?

Just chit chat. I definitely remember hearing something a year ago or more that there was a market abroad for our luxury barges. That's why supply was reduced and prices firmed. I'm glad to be proved wrong because that makes available metal cheaper for me.

I've seen a few late mk1 e65 745 individual with the same spec as the one posted. I like it. I had a 730d for about a year. It was very plush but too big for the UK. I had trouble parking in most car parks and got mine beeched in a multi story in Leicester.

Mine was a sport with simple suspension. I've driven a 745 with the active suspension. I think it's roll bars or something like that. It rode very well for a big barge.

Very unusual colour/trim combo not for the feint hearted. Suspect this will take a little time to sell...

Get past some of the Japanese take on top-end lux and these are fab machines.

For me, I would still need a chunk off.

Hybrid tech with 80k miles could mean bills.

About 4 months ago I bought a 15 plate CAT C mercedes B220 CDI sport premium 4WD, engine blown up, 2900 miles, got a new engine fitted , been driving it for a couple of months , put around 1500 miles on it, good spec, white leather, distronic, nav, reversing camera, heated seats etc etc, wife likes it, it does absolutely nothing for me, yes it drives nice, you can have a conversation at 70 without raising your voice, I drove past a school at chucking out time and the yummy mummies all approved because I don't think they were looking at the fat 55 year old driving it

Then I come to this thread and see a 5.0 Lexus and think hmmm

but it's crazy thinking isn't it , changing a what is in effect a brand new car albeit a CAT C for something 8-9 years old with 80k on the clock and having to put money to it

Isn't that the the interest in cars talking smile

In reality who NEEDS more than a 320D, we do these things because we want to, not for any rational reason!

The chap on the barge thread CDG, Oa and R129 (sc ?) do the country a service keeping their luxo-barges in top form on a budget, that I assume, could easily see them in much newer metal!

Long live barging, shedding and unnecessary engine displacement.

I went from a PCP deal on a recent BMW X6 to a 10 year old BMW 645 because I was concerned about my job in the oil industry and wanted to get out of the high monthly costs. Found out on friday that I was right to be concerned, so having everything paid off is quite a nice feeling.

My wife thought I'd drive my tip run Berlingo for a while but I went ahead and bought the 645 for £10k as it's low milage and in great condition, however buying a 4.4l V8 with complicated everything isn't exactly a low budget option and it's cost me a bit in repairs.

I love it more than any car I've had before (this is number 18, I'm 39). It's not perfect, likes a drink and currently gets garaged in winter as it's a bit crap when the roads are slippery but for character, noise and making me happy it's right up there.
It's not a sensible option, I could have saved a lot of money by ignoring some faults but I like the car too much to have anything wrong with it!

It's now looking like I may need to commute after years working on oil rigs (and driving a total of 4k a year), depending on what work is available. My left knee isn't in the best condition so I don't really want to spend an hour and a half a day in heavy traffic with a manual car.
I'm trying to decide between changing the berlingo for something sheddy and auto (Volvo are currently winning this race), keeping the berlingo and coping with knee pain or fitting winter tyres to the 645 and using it.

My biggest concern is the BMW getting damaged in the carpark, not the fact it'll get about 15mpg on the way there.

i'd fit the winter tyres and get up early to get the best parking spot

There was a video on youtube with 2 lads in a golf driving round a field covered in snow on winters where it wouldn't go through the gate on summers

I bought a maserati 4200 last year then had it professionally resprayed so now it looks like a new car, downside is i'm terrified of parking it anywhere in case I come back to a ding in the door or a scuff on the bumper.

The only thing you can do is fit dashcams front and rear and make sure if somebody does hit it and drive away they get the 6 points and a big fine

Not the best motorway wafter to keep aligned with this thread, however.

Indeed, they're in the 1-5k thread, and I'd have been lynched doubling the budget in there!
