Not much activity here of late but these are going lower into the depths of this thread's budget.

Nice. Prettiest shape, IMO: best modernisation of the classic style before the addition of gills.

Does look good and compared to decent previous gen XJR not a huge price difference. That said, anecdotally I understand that they can suffer from serious corrosion.

No Lexus saloon will be winning any style awards anytime soon but if the current gen is engineered anything like its predecessors, these things are built to last.

Maybe look a bit glossy, but they are solid enough for the job of carrying around all that weight in engines smile I looked at these when getting mine (LS460) and except for 4wd, could not see any real benefit in the hybrid. 1mpg better overall and a lot more to go wrong. If you after the ultimate in pampered rear seat passangers, this car is pretty much it. I do have to say though that the cost of keeping the LS under the Lexus umbrella has been surprisingly reasonable... £350 services at 50 and 60k, which when compared to the costs of equivalent BMW's is rather good.

Fair comments chaps. I've seen a Lexus parked up at work at looks like that but had bigger alloys. I remember the headlights as they were pretty distinctive. I like cars like this but would prefer to be driven in biggrin I heard those rear heated massage seats are awesome...

They really are - just a shame for us bargeista that they only have them in the back!

One suspects that that is a discussion for an entirely different kind of forum...

I like the idea of the LS460, but read quite a number of people on US forums complaining about a seriously flawed driver's seat, saying it's very uncomfortable. This seemed very odd for the company that usually over engineer everything. Anyone travelled a long distance in the front of one and found this, or are the Americans making a fuss about nothing?

Perhaps one needs to ask what shape they are.. I have done 3 1500 mile long weekend trips in mine without any problem. Getting the seat right took a while, that much is true. But it is a comfortable place to sit, and that includes about 13 hour straight trip with a stop for fuel.

Edit: As a long distance car, it's very capable. Not as frugal as a large diesel, but that last long weekend saw 31mpg. I've had mine for 14 months now and put about 25k on it. It's not the last word in barge handling and the CVT has two disntinct modes of operation, that others may find slow to kick down. I like it. I looked at A6/8, S500 saloons and 750's and I found the Lexus to be a softer car than these and it suits a more sedate ride. Though, saying that, stir the CVT in sport mode and it goes and it makes a decent enough noise both from the engine and the Levinson audio system which is stunning.
