What's the catch with this?

If I was in the £15k market I wouldn't hesitate
Looks very nice - the next service might have spark plugs being changed, so that'll be c£1k for the standard according to the MB website.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...

I'm on the long term look for a second fun (power barge/SUV or sports) car that can seat 4 - this might make that list. Assuming it doesn't fail with spectacular cost regularly
Hmmmm I could still live with it even at that price - for some reason I expect the odd 'Bentley-esque' bill (bloody man maths).
Also would it be as dear at an indy? Always seemed the PH mantra was it was bonkers to take cars to a main dealer as a indy generally can do it cheaper and still stamp the book?
Reckon that is one catch unearthed for most though so well played

Aha indy was the word I was looking for!

Merc main dealer prices are always going to rape you.
I'd imagine half that at an indy. Helicopter123 said:

I'd imagine half that at an indy. The real question here is if plug change needs any computer programming - which I think is unlikely.

£100+ an hour might have something to do with it though.
That still equates to 5 hours labour for a trained tech. Just go to a specialist and suck it up. No one is going to want a complex barge that the owner has been hitting with a hammer themselves to save a few quid. Barging is occasional big cost! The trick is to avoid the costly times, not skimp on them when you get caught. Blown2CV said:

I'd imagine half that at an indy. I might be getting too tempted... been looking through some MB forums and saw a write up for DIY replacement. Took 2 hours (another took 5 hours with some hard to remove plugs), so wouldn't be surprised if MB was charging 2-2.5hrs hours labour and £10/plug = c£500
